guess who forgot about the kainora week
How I be looking defending LOK (I genuinely love this show almost as much as ATLA I don’t get the hate 😭)
Kainora headcanons?
Of course!
Kai defers to Jinora on almost everything except when he thinks she's being too hard on herself.
Kai is still a little stunned, years later, that someone like Jinora chose him. He grew up with nothing and nobody and she looks at him like he's worth something. He's still learning to believe it.
Jinora loved Kai with her mind first—the way he listened when she talked about the spirits, the way he never made her feel strange for knowing too much. The heart part came after.
Jinora is the calm center. Kai is the motion around it. They balance each other without either of them trying.
Jinora reads to Kai. He never had much access to books growing up and she reads to him like it's the most natural thing in the world. He has a favorite series now. He's embarrassed about how much he cares about it.
Kai brings her small things—a feather, a strange stone, a flower he found somewhere on a flight. You know, like a crow.
Jinora falls asleep studying. Kai always puts a blanket over her without waking her up.
Kai carries guilt about his past—the stealing, the lying, the survival-mode version of himself that he had to be. Jinora has never once made him feel like that boy is all he is.
Kai takes the Air Nomad teachings seriously in a way that surprises people who underestimate him. Jinora never underestimated him.
Kai learned meditation entirely because Jinora loves it. He's not naturally suited to stillness. He does it anyway.
Jinora beat Kai in a race exactly once and has never let him forget it. He maintains the wind was unfair. She maintains the wind is entirely fair at all times.
Kai tried to write Jinora a poem. It was genuinely terrible.
"Air Nomads aren't supposed to be in romantic relationships!"
Aang, Jinora, Jesa, and Gyatso:
They're actually doing fine. Kainora 🥺❤️
It makes me laugh when I try to imagine Tenzin’s reaction to their relationship🤭
