Perhaps my only impulse pickup (don't ask), it's also one of my favorites. We picked this up from a small vinyl shop owner who had this in his business.

It's a Centipede cab that was wired for JAMMA and then converted to Taito classic to run Bubble Bobble.

Since the owners were vinyl guys, they had covered the sides in black vinyl and added @atari and @taitostation logos along with a bunch of little stars on the control panel. They also printed that custom marquee. It has its charm but I'd really like to find an original Taito cab that I can customize myself one day. Maybe then I'll see if the Centipede art is at all salvageable....or there at all.

I had issues at one point with power at the board and found some of the pins burned up. I fixed those with some copper tape... More than once, but I think it's finally good for the long haul. Dig into my posts from 2015 to see some of that, if you're interested.

The first major thing I did after fixing the pins was rewire the cab for Taito classic and block off the extra buttons, which I think were wired to credit the game. I instead tried a couple of alternate methods since no good free play option existed at the time. Not long after that, the High Score Saves online save kit which also allows for free play came out and I promptly installed one.

Oh yeah I also installed some cheap two way sticks which aren't great but certainly better than the 8 ways that were in there before.

It's been fun to work on and is one of my most popular games with visitors as well as one of my personal favorites.
