I imagine that he heads overseas to lay low (you know he's got a price on his head after how everything went down), and while he's in hiding, he takes the opportunity to settle down and finally, begrudgingly, start therapy. As part of his therapy, he takes up cooking. He also has his mutt that he found in the Caracas slums smuggled to him by loyal militia members, a mutt who is unofficially his emotional support animal 💖
