I’ve spent the last few months catching up on the entire 9-1-1 show.

needless to say, I ship them soooo much.

Season 8 was definitely a roller-coaster.

Choices were made… not always the best ones, but those Buddie crumbs? Chef’s kiss.

Let’s hope Season 9 lives up to expectations! 😭

Aaaaand please… bring the mustache back and keep the curls. Priorities, okay?

Still not over how literally everyone is afraid of and annoyed by clipboard!Buck and then here comes Eddie Diaz with his heart eyes and fond smiles 🥹😭

So we could've had

- Buck and Harry elevator action scene to get to the still unknown person trapped in the elevator

- Eddie blinking at the light just to see the emergency exit opening to reveal Buck

- Buck and Harry trying to stop the bleeding

- Harry volunteering to sneak out to get blood bags

- Buck and Eddie talking, about the small things, the big things, never the one thing; Buck shaking Eddie every once in a while to keep him awake

- Harry running into May, Ravi and Athena and making the choice to get back to Eddie, acknowledging that he fully trusts Ravi with his family; Harry understanding that he really is meant save people, can save people, but not everyone

- Eddie using Buck's phone to call Chris

- Buck's oh moment about Theo

- Eddie realizing that he doesn't want Chris with Buck, he wants Chris and Buck; Eddie's oh moment about Buck

- Harry returning just as Eddie falls silent; Harry putting up the transfusion because Buck's hands are shaking so much that Harry pushes him away, "You're too close for this", paralleing the woman and her cardiac arrest husband

- Buck's oh moment about Eddie

- dramatic NDE montages switching between Athena and Eddie

- Angsty hospital bedside montage

- happy end

And instead we got... well.

I know everyone is thinking Buddie will finally get together in some big way but honestly wouldn't it be so cute (now that they live together rn) is that when they are rushing to leave the house like Eddie is taking Chris to school and says bye and gives Buck a peck on the lips or cheek out of habit and he doesn't even realize until later he did that and Buck is freaking out

Eddie and Buck stare at the food brought to Eddie’s bedside. Eddie disappointed at what he is looking at immediately.

Eddie: Three days. I can’t do this for three days this is ridiculous.

Eddie pushes the tray toward Buck slightly.

Eddie: I’m fine.

Buck: You were stabbed in the gut.

Buck said with a look of seriousness.

Eddie: Not that deep.

Buck: Uh…yeah the elevator looked like a scene from the Shining.

Eddie huffed a noise. Leaving them both in silence. Buck then looked down Eddie’s gown and he frowned a bit looking up at Eddie.

Buck: You scared me, you know.

Eddie: No surprise there you found me in a elevator near dead.

Buck: Yeah…what is it with us in hospitals this year.

Eddie snickered.

Eddie: First New Mexico and now this.

Buck looked aside and Eddie saw Buck’s mood shift.

Eddie: You good? The second I brought up New Mexico.

Buck: No. I been thinking since then Eddie. Too much. You getting in this state in that elevator didn’t help either.

Eddie: What have you been thinking about?

Buck: You and I Eddie.

Eddie went wide eyed a bit blushing lightly.

Eddie: What…about you and I?

Buck looked at Eddie’s eyes then his lips.

Buck: Ugh why do you have make me do this Edmundo?

Eddie was caught off guard by his actual name it made him fold a bit hearing it from Buck’s mouth.

Eddie: Edmund—

Buck grabbed the back Eddie’s head and kissed him. Eddie slowly melted into it both blushing as they had their first kiss. Finally, realizing what they wanted after 8 years of being this close with each other.
