AND WHEN HE REALIZED WHAT WAS GOING ON, HE STOOD IN FRONT OF THE BARREL OF ANOTHER GUN DESPITE HAVING PTSD FROM BEING SHOT TWICE AND HE DIDNT BACK DOWN UNTIL HE KNEW BUCK WAS OKAY!!!

Genuinely 9-1-1 has the opportunity to make one of the best romance story lines of all time. And look I’ve been here before and I know, just like most, that a ship doesn’t need to be canon to be good, but if buddie actually went canon? 8 years of build (I love a slow burn what can I say) and 8 years of failed relationships, the fact that Eddie has kind of been accidentally set up with the perfect comphet storyline, I just. It could be so incredible, and at this point they really cannot set up better relationships for either of them. We’re in season 9 like if it was going to be anybody else then it should have been by now but it’s not. I need Eddie looking buck in the eyes and going “it’s always been you” all out of breath and in awe like he’s seeing him for the first time all over again, I need the realization to hit him and he gasps because it’s not a massive realization, it’s always been there he’s just never looked at it or considered it long enough to see it, it’s gentle and it’s easy, it makes sense the way nothing else ever did. It was always buck. And then for Buck? It’s big. It’s the unveiling, he can no longer use excuses and lie to himself, he can’t hide from it behind Eddie being straight if Eddie likes him back, it changes everything it changes everything and it scares him, not because it is new but because it isn’t, the feelings he has have always been there but labeled incorrectly but it has always been Eddie. Eddie has to be the one to kiss him first but Buck for the first time teaches Eddie that he can be something precious and loved and taken care of, Eddie doesn’t always have to be the one to do it. Buck shows him that gentleness he’s never known and Eddie gives Buck that love and stability he’s never known and the two help each other heal the way they always have for years.

part of the thing about buck-and-eddie is that they've basicaly grown around each other, like a tree growing around a park bench. buck is pivotal to eddie, and eddie is pivotal to buck. they support each other. when Eddie is having a problem, the first person he wants to talk to is buck. when buck needs reassurances, he reaches for eddie. so if one of them lost their memories after an NDE, it would be funny for like thirty minutes, and then eddie would turn to buck, and for once, buck wouldn't already be looking at him to share the joke. and all of a sudden there's this wave of fear and grief from eddie, becuase buck is okay, physically, but he misses his best frenid. what if buck is never back? what if he never rembers everything they've shared? what if his memory never comes back and eddie is never home again? why am I crying
