President Obama has opened a new front in his hard line against the incoming Republican Congress by releasing more detainees from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, against lawmakers’ objections.
The Pentagon announced Thursday that four al Qaeda fighters from Yemen, including a…

5 More Gitmo terrorists released- will they join ISIS too?
The amnesty fight is ongoing, but while America was busy with the illegal immigration Executive Order, Obama released five more Gitmo detainees. Technically speaking, they were “transferred” to two other nations: Slovakia and Georgia (the country), where they could “start their new lives.”
Hashim Bin Ali Bin Amor Sliti and Yemeni Husayn Salim Muhammad Al-Mutari Yafai, went to Slovakia.Three Yemeni detainees — Salah Mohammed Salih Al-Dhabi, Abdel Ghaib Ahmad Hakim andAbdul Khaled Al-Baydani — were released to Georgia.
Reports about previous detainees who were released and went back to the battlefield fell on deaf ears. Four Al-Qaeda fighters from Yemen were released and one Tunisian extremist. One of the terrorists released, Yafai, was considered a high risk to return to the battlefield and was therefore not released in 2008. If it’s anything like previous situations, their “new lives” may not be what the Americans had hoped.
Buck McKeon, House Armed Services Committee Chairman, was unhappy about the transfer. He had just written a letter to Chuck Hagel, Secretary of Defense, on October 30, asking him to stop all releases from Gitmo.
“If just one U.S. soldier loses their life over these transfers, we will have failed in our duty to the American people. What the Obama administration is doing is dangerous and, frankly, reckless. They have chosen many times to put politics above national security. It’s time they stop playing with fire and start doing what’s right. Until we can assure the terrorists stay off the battlefield, they must stay behind bars.”
But Hagel told him that when a transfer was certified,(with Hagel’s name on it), there was ‘minimal risk’ that any of the detainees would pose a problem. Which flies in the face of other information that many of the releases had joined ISIS and other groups in the Middle East.
107 of the 620 terrorists released have been tracked back to the battlefield. Another 77 were suspected of returning, but not confirmed.
The foolish idea that incarceration keeps prisoners from re-offending is probably not a good premise for the government to rely on. #post- .CPlase_panel display:none;

Louie Gohmert (R.-Texas), Rep. Michele Bachmann (R.-Minn.), Rep. Trey Gowdy (R.-S.C.), Rep. John Fleming (R.-La.), Rep. Jim Jordan (R.-Ohio), and Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R.-Calif.) were among the Republicans who voted against it.

Buck McKeon comments on killing of General Greene
Major General Harold Greene
The attack that killed Major General Harold Greene is a dark day for the United States. The blame game has already started. The attack was an inside job and was covered earlier today in Misguided Children.
Statement on General Greene’s death
Representative Howard “Buck” McKeon (R-CA) released a statement on General Greene’s death in his role as Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee.
“I’m saddened by the loss of life in Afghanistan today. Because the Taliban has been unable to succeed militarily against Afghan and coalition forces, they are continuing to conduct cowardly, headline-grabbing insider attacks.
Many Americans and their allies have fallen in the effort to defeat a terrible enemy, and this incident demonstrates their courage in the face of danger. The event only underscores the importance of leaving Afghanistan when the job is finished — rather than stubbornly adhering to arbitrary political deadlines.
“The Armed Services Committee has and will continue to conduct its rigorous oversight of our mission in Afghanistan. My thoughts and prayers are with those killed and wounded today, and their families, and I salute the bravery of our forces who continue to serve there with honor.”
The cold truth
Sadly, there will be more political points that other politicians will make. The White House has no release to be found and no email statement, either. The really sad part is, few of our troops still dying there get more notice than to make some political point. General Greene is just the highest ranked death lately.
The voices for staying and for leaving are getting louder, but the voice for the troops is lowering. There needs to be less politics in our military, but that isn’t going to happen. The troops that died today, other than the General, were also doing their job. We need to think of that, instead of making political points. .CPlase_panel display:none;
