Munday Ooc Questions
3: Is there anything challenging about writing your muse?
Just mainly trying to keep Amelia as ‘real’ as possible without crossing the line of her being labelled a mary sue. I find I tend to worry more so with Amelia than any other oc I’ve made cause of the stigma that is generally on twins of Harry Potter. Which I can sorta imagine cause there are some not-so-well written twins in fanfiction and whatnot but I hate how it leaves ALL Harry twins under the impression that they’re a mary sue. Just overall trying to make Amelia fit into the story as though her addition blends in smoothly rather than just throwing her into the mix and having her the center of attention is the most difficult thing for me to write.
4: Is there anything enjoyable about writing your muse?
I love everything, to be honest! Amelia is such an interesting character to write for. I find she’s very different to every other witch/wizard given her views and feelings towards the magical world, how she fears magic instead of embracing it. I also get a real crack out of her essentially being a mini-James despite looking like a mini-Lily. The strange thing is I’m not fond of arrogant people but Amelia is arrogant as they come and I love her for it XD I think it’s a case of “loving someone, flaws and all” XD
7: What is your preferred roleplaying style and why? (semi para/para/mirror etc)
I love (semi-)para and icon chat for separate reasons. Para threads have always been my guilty pleasure as they allow me to write and express so much. I’m able to go into depth not just with my character’s speech, but what they’re thinking, feeling and doing. Often when I start writing, I can’t stop and that’s what I wanna do with paras. However, as much as I love paras, I can’t write them all the time. When that happens, icon chats are perfect for me to do given how short they are. It helps keep my muse alive when I’m not able to write super lengthy replies.
8: If you knew your muse in RL would you be friends or enemies?
I’d really like to say we’d be friends. I doubt we’d be enemies but I also don’t know if we’d be BFFs. But not being enemies is a good thing XD
9: Is there a certain writing style or colloquialisms you have to use for you muse that changes from your own?
I actually need to do more research on it but I do need to be careful that my ‘aussie slang’ doesn’t get in the way given Amelia isn’t australian - she’s from England. I doubt I’m on the right track exactly but yeah, doing research is a definite must thing for me, haha.
18: [OC] Was their background decided from the start or developed over time?
Half and half, to be honest. I think the basics like Amelia being able to do wandless magic, being raised by another family, not starting Hogwarts till a bit later and meeting Harry later in life were some of the stuff I decided at the start, but everything else developed over time. When I first created Amelia (several years back), a lot of my stuff in her bio had no proper explanation for why certain things happened. However as time went on and I became slightly more experienced I ‘updated’ Amelia’s bio. This included something as simple as making timelines fit (as when I wrote Amelia then I had only see the movies and of course there is so much more in the books) and giving detail descriptions (eg: why Amelia never got her Hogwarts letter in 1991) for why certain things happened.
20: [OC] How did you choose their name?

☯ - which muse are you not active anymore on but wish you were?
Before it was Eva though I’m slowly getting into the groove of bringing her back and things are looking good so far so ... yay! XD
✘ - what portrayal are you really proud of?
I’m honestly not too sure, to be honest? I don’t tend to be that proud of any my stuff really. I know how poor that sounds but it is the truth. It’s just an anxiety/lack of confidence thing on my behalf. Plus I’m also really worried that if I do say something like that then people will view me as arrogant and/or boastful.
❃ - what’s a really small way you’re similar to your muse?
We both find water incredibly calming. Rain, swimming, winter, you name it. We find it soothing for different reasons though. I tend to find the heat flares my anxiety up so whenever it rains or I get the chance to swim or something helps calm me down. As for Eva, water is very soothing on her burn scars and it helps gives her a feeling of comfort. She’s also not fond of heat either though with her it’s cause of her traumatic ordeal of being stuck in a house fire and having 60% of second and third degree burns scattered across her body.

Munday Questions: Reblog as Text
유 Who was your first muse?
It’s been ages, like almost a decade I think, but it was either Ariel from the little mermaid or Paige Matthews from Charmed. I have remade the latter quite a few times and it was actually a roleplay account for Paige that I started to write novella threads. I remember one thread got to 20 paras. It just really, really pushed me XD
✌ What is the easiest aspect of playing this muse?
I honestly don’t know if there is an easy aspect of playing Eva o.O We’re basically complete opposites in most ways (eg: Eva’s snarky and aggressive and I’m just passive and shy). I mean, one of the few things we do have in common is anxiety disorders but we have different ones and we acquired them through different means, as well as how we deal with them. I think just roleplaying Eva for so long is that I’m used to writing her. It’s easy for me because I know her so well to know how she would think, act or say in any given situation.
☠ Who is a muse you would want to play?
At the moment? I’m not too sure. There has been times where I’ve missed my Renesmee blog though the muse for her hasn’t been overwhelming to the point where I’ve rushed over, logged in and did drafts at a flying pace. As for characters I don’t have any accounts for but would like to roleplay, none really come to mind. I mean there are stuff like a female!Damon Salvatore or a female!Derek Hale or even a vampire oc for the teen wolf fandom, but they’re just possible ideas on the side that I haven’t fully acted on. Sorry I think my answer is all over the place here XD
✈ Is it easier to write angst, fluff, or crack with your muse?
Sad as it sounds, angst. I think it’s cause of who Eva is as a person - she’s someone who’s got a lot of sadness, rage and pain. It’s easiest to write those things in angsty threads. However in saying that, I do thoroughly enjoy writing fluff and crack with Eva. I don’t do the latter as often as I would like but whenever it does happen I treasure it dearly.
⌚ Is it easier for you to write as canon characters or OCs?
Ocs for sure. Like I know even though canons are portrayed a certain way in whatever thing they’re from, there is no right or wrong to how a person writes them cause every perception of the character is different, but I can’t help but worry that when I write canons I’m writing them completely ooc. With ocs it sorta takes off the stress cause no one can tell me what’s right or wrong when it comes to a portrayal of a character that I made. I do and have roleplayed canons in the past but (take now for example) I only have one canon blog.
