#Repost @khyentsefoundation ・・・ Rinpoche has often said that academics and scholars are the “guardians of the dharma” because they ensure that rigorous examination of the authentic #dharma will be available far into the future. . Last week we presented the KF Award for Academic Excellence in #Buddhist Studies to Cheng-De Lin and Cheng-Ming Liu, two PhD students from National Taiwan University (@nationaltaiwanuniversity). Lin’s #dissertation is titled “Examining and Eliminating Sad-dṛṣṭi and Asad-dṛṣṭi: Based on the 4th Assembly of the Mahāprajñāpāramitā-sūtra and the Laṅkāvatāra-sūtra” and Liu’s is “Arguing the Principle of Teaching Dharma Based on the Idea of Hitopadeṣṭṛ.” KF hopes that the award not only encourages them to continue their studies but also lets them know that someone believes in the importance of their work. . Currently, KF partners with Buddhist Studies programs at 14 universities on four continents to encourage excellence in Buddhist scholarship. .
