Much Ado About Nothing (Day 666) [RE: xX_KitEm_Xx]

So I’ve been out of making things for the longest while. I’d like to say it was because of school, but I really can’t. Either way, Kay and I have this class called Shakespeare and Musical Adaptations of Shakespeare and our final project was to make some sort of multi-media presentation (very vague). We ended up making a half hour long vlog starring Kit Marlowe and Billy Shakes where Billy is trying to write a comedy but is so caught up in his past relationship that all he wants to talk about is the pains and sufferings of love. Lesson learned: never give us creative freedom.

If you like deadpan humor and a bit of screaming then this is for you. Fair warning though, the video does have quite a bit of profanity considering it’s a school project.

I hadn't noticed I used this image before until after I wrote it down a minute ago, but here it is anyway.

The roaring of the tracks couldn't compare to the roaring in her head as she watched her lover run past. As the train pulled up to the station she wished she had jumped into his loving arms. A missed opportunity.

A Metaphor

So I've been in a weird position in that I've actually just moved into an apartment by my school so I haven't really thought of writing that much. But don't worry, now that I have more time on my hands I have more time to write. This is sort of a cop out, but for a class I was supposed to respond to a few articles but i sort of just wrote a metaphor. For context, we're talking about gentrification in the class... I know it's a bad metaphor. But I guess, enjoy my homework.

While reading these two articles, a single scene in my head played over and over. Imagine a bowl of water and a cup of oil. Place a few drops of the cup’s contents into the bowl. Mix it. It becomes a homogenous mixture for only a while because after some time the water and oil separate. What happened to the mixture? Wasn’t it supposed to mix? Add more oil into the bowl of water. What happens? The oil forms in larger masses and displaces the water. Watch as the oil moves around the bowl, moving into places where there once was water. Moving in groups the oil pushes the water aside to make room for itself. Mix it again. It mixes for only a while until the water and oil separate again. Again? Add more oil and watch as the cup of oil completely covers the top of the bowl of water. Think about how the oil is being supported by the water; or rather in more scientific terms, density. Mix it again. It doesn’t remain mixed of course. Think to yourself, “what’s the best way to keep the mixture together?”

The last two songs I've written were really short, and in reality they were written to respond to each other. Also, I sort of didn't want to abandon my personal youtube channel, so I put that combination on there since those two songs were already on the project's youtube.
