Movement, motion, mobility: isn't the body fascinating in its possibilities and capabilities when you take away the thought process. I absolutely struggled with the mobility classes @budokonuniversity when I started, but that's because I was approaching it with an adult mind, confusing it and looking for the danger. Whereas my child brain just wanted to jump in without a care in the world. STABILITY - LENGTH - EXPRESSION This mornings class @budokonuniversity was broken down with a focus on our half moon. When Hosea spoke of breaking it down into a journey of stability, growth and expression, it really struck a chord. He bought to my attention how we visually digest an experience and seek to emanate its exact form produced by another without any thought to its initial birth, development and growth. Yoga, martial arts, calisthenics, whatever! If you want to be good at it, you need to practice it, break it down, learn about your body, and allow your body to produce its own version. Getting caught up on how someone else does something really isn't what it's all about. Show up and find out. But if a metaphor for life methinks. Prep work is hard work, but get it done and you can safely achieve your goals. @budokonuniversity play time is about experimenting and learning how to move your body, find out what your missing and then showing up to the shit you don't wanna deal with. But it's this shit stuff that leads to the transformation. I'm being assisted here by the gorgeous Dave for float throughs.
