Gura Gura Animal.
Made a press mould. Got a chocolate (buff raku) Easter egg from it. Now a few more of these, some slicing and joining... Bottles, vases, "sculptural" "vessels"...
1. Preparing found clay (from Crescent Bay, North Coast of NSW) to use as terra sigillata slip application 2. First wheel work since last term. Threw a cylinder TMK (forgot how soft this clay is!), etched lines with a needle, then bellied it out to expand the etched lines and make it into a round vase. 3. Glazed the bisqued items from last term. My sake bottle w legs is going in with a coat of shino (!!). Buff raku faceted cup has a crack at the base so it will be a mini planter - it is glazed using “20:30:30”. A pot glazed in celadon with scratching patterns made by a comb. And a oversized mug of iron stone, with tenmoku then dipped in Chun 4. My two "animal" "sake bottles" hanging together :)
