This is my second try on an oversized textured mug- much better than the first!

I made a series of mistakes with the first attempt that culminated in not securing it enough when I tried to trim it on the wheel. It flew off and cracked enough that I scrapped it.

It definitely ended up being for the best! In this iteration, which I did start to finish in 2 hours, I made the slab long enough, made the mug taller, cut out the base and built the mug there instead of around a cylinder that was hard to remove, and just generally did a better job on the lip and handle.

I don’t have class again till January, but I’ll try to come up with a really spectacular glaze concept by then.
