You don't have to be more
A/N: So I thought of this whilst I was a work and only now I got to writing it out. It’s short, but I love it so much. (It’s unedited btw)
(Stony highschool AU, Steve signed up for an experiment to get some money because he doesn’t want to accept any from Tony. Ensue this little thing.)
The sudden sound of Tony’s footsteps nearing brought Steve out of his slumber. He shot up, hastily straightening his shirt. “Steve, dear, how did the-”
if only you could see me (for the pie that i am) by bitelikefire (theoleo)
In which Steve is the proud owner of Frost; a semi famous local bakery in D.C. And despite the overwhelming insistence that it’s about time he start dating, Steve swears up and down he isn’t ready for that. Or as of recently, just doesn’t have the time because of Mr. Barnes. The highly demanding wedding planner on the phone who keeps asking for nearly impossible deliveries and maybe Steve would like to personally strangle him. Maybe.
(There is pie. And misunderstandings. But a lot more desserts and eye rolls.)

Steve Rogers *cannot stand* the asshole florist across the street. He's gorgeous and perfect and totally rude and uncaring about important things. He's probably just a vain, pretty idiot.
Bucky Barnes will talk for *hours* about how the asshole who runs the coffee shop across the street drives him crazy. All he does is make shitty vegan cake and basically perform this whole caring act. He's super hot and perfect and Bucky can. not. stand him.
Really, a Christmas party thrown by Bucky's business partner leads to the totally inevitable.
Werewolf? There wolf by leveragehunters (Monkeygreen)
After the car accident that cost him his arm and the endless rehabilitation that got him his shiny metal Stark Industries replacement, Bucky's happy for a break from people. The house in the forest is peaceful, town's a fair distance away, and he's got no neighbours...except maybe a blue-eyed wolf and possibly a naked guy named Steve.
(PS: Steve is the wolf.)

Bucky's mother orders him to, for god's sake (hers, specifically), do something about all the people in love with Steve.
Did I mention Bucky's mother is Aphrodite?
Even Underneath The Waves by leveragehunters (Monkeygreen)
When the siren came to the merfolk clan in search of a temporary mate she knew she'd bear a daughter, a full-blooded siren, powerful and deadly. Instead she bore a son.
It was hard to be the son of a siren, a creature of suspicion in the eyes of his father's people, and Steve soon left his father's clan to wander the oceans alone. Alone, that is, until he found a human like he'd never seen. A human dressed all in black, surrounded by blood and death. A human whose heart's desire, buried deep beneath an inhuman shell, was crying out not to kill.
Coming Home by charlesdk
“Steve, you don't know a damn thing about that guy. The fact that you're even considering keeping him in your house is crazy.”
“I don't care.” Steve glanced over at the stranger, his face softening when he saw him sinking back into the couch cushions and gripping his backpack so tightly. “Sam, the guy looks like no one's been nice to him for years. How am I supposed to be okay with just sending him off somewhere?”
Sam sighed heavily and looked heavenward. “I swear to God, if I come by tomorrow and find you dead in your bed, I'm gonna find a way to bring you back to life just to kill you again.”
OR – in which former army captain, current farmer Steve Rogers finds a bruised and battered and dirty stranger who remembers nothing and doesn't speak in his barn. He takes him in, despite his friends' advice not to, and helps him recover. It's not easy. Especially not when, along the way, feelings get involved.
