A tasty take on a traditional favorite, these Buffalo Tofu Fries are spicy, tangy, and incredibly satisfying. They are the ideal appetizer or snack for any occasion because they are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.
Ingredients: 1 block extra-firm tofu, pressed and cut into fries. 1/4 cup hot sauce. 2 tablespoons melted vegan butter. 1 tablespoon maple syrup. 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar. 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder. 1/2 teaspoon onion powder. 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika. Salt and pepper, to taste. 1 tablespoon cornstarch. 1 tablespoon olive oil.
Instructions: Set oven temperature to 425F 220C and place parchment paper on a baking sheet. Combine the hot sauce, melted vegan butter, apple cider vinegar, maple syrup, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, and salt and pepper in a small bowl. Toss to coat evenly. Place tofu fries in a large bowl and sprinkle with cornstarch. After drizzling the tofu fries with olive oil, toss to coat. After adding the buffalo sauce, toss the tofu fries until they are well coated. Arrange the tofu fries on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Bake until crispy and golden brown, stirring halfway through, 25 to 30 minutes. Warm up and pair with your preferred dipping sauce.
