Introducing East :]
Easton Aubrey LaBelle St. Clair ;
They/He/Any , Gay
5'7, 26
AKA: Bug/Broody Bug, East, E-Clair (begrudgingly).
Though still a bit cold around the edges, East is doing their best to dismantle their prejudice, relearn their passions, and put their history behind them ^^ One odd encounter and/or highly dangerous situation at a time.
Ouuuu, sneeakiiiinnnn
Ya uhhh ya! You know this started as just a jacked up lol character doodle, but I wanted him?? In a place so yeah, he's snooping around. And obviously looking low-key stressed about it, since that's basically his perpetual state of being, lol.
"I simply sketch specimens I find interesting. Mostly insects, the occasional flower. Nothing interesting." And half of his damn sketchbook is filled with highly detailed ink sketches of Bodie 🙄
Bestowing this upon the wider Bug community. Easton would evaporate if anyone ever found out lmao.
You know I've been wondering...
Where would y'all's bugs be from? I'm not 100% sure of where the Gator Boys setting is in context to our world, but I am still curious.
Tell me about where they'd be from/their cultures ^^ If you want.
Yapping about Easton
General CW for vague mentions of physical abuse, death, and like, a lil angst yk?
For starters, the attack that led to his mother's death was as a result of his father getting their half-blood servants to consume male..ciiide?? (If you know how to spell that let me know). Easton didn't know at the time, and it served to help fuel his hatred for the "ungrateful halfbloods" he hunted.
That said, by the time Bodie ingests it and, for a lack of better phrasing, tweaks the hell out, East would have started to put the pieces together.
I think in the chaos of it all, East's mother probably tucked him underneath her body as a means of protection. She was on top of him when she died, and even long after she'd stopped screaming, he didn't really have it in him to move. I think because of that experience, East doesn't do well in cramped spaces. It reminds him of being crushed under his mom, yknow?
The entire experience left him with gaps in his memory not all that long after it was all over. That and the fact that, prior, he was kinda getting the empathy he had for monsters corporally punished out of him, he's sort of blanked blanked. Maybe that's why it's so easy to catch him thinking really intensely off into nothing. He's got gaps that he's trying really hard to fill, but his mind keeps storing them away.
I think also forgetting little things really irritates him a lot. He can't stand feeling out of control of himself, in the same way his memory suppression does, even if he knows one is just simple forgetfulness and the other is like, trauma.
Another thing about the death of his mother that kinda shaped the way he acts is both why he's so distant, and then so protective. I think he feels as though caring toooo much about people is a liability to his own stability, especially with how dangerous and unpredictable life can be. But he's cold, not entirely soulless. Easton cares for people, despite himself. Thus he's protective, which is natural. But I think the extent it goes to becomes a bad for him because a lot of that need to protect stems from his own regrets about not being able to protect or save his mother. And if we want to get really into canon plot about it, Timothy too and Bodie too. Not being able to protect others really eats him up inside. And others not always needing his protection or help can be hard for him to wrap his head around.
But yeah, I just wanted to yap uvu That's all, rawr and all that lmao.
What does East think of Korey :3
I think when all is said and done, East thinks quite warmly of Korey :]
He admires that they're so high spirited, despite having gone through their fair share of troubles in life. Easton thinks that kind of energy is important to hold close, yk? After all, he knows far too well how a broken spirit can kinda screw a person up.
He expresses annoyance sometimes, but it's never out of any real distaste for Korey, it's more lightheartedly grumpy than anything else.
East also takes care to keep an eye on them. Not because he thinks Korey can't handle herself, quite the contrary actually, as he respects her just as he would anyone else. Buuuuut, she has a tendency towards reckless behavior, and East would hate to see anything happen to her.
So yeah, East thinks Korey is lovely, if a bit rambunctious at times uvu He's happy to have them as a friend, though best of luck getting him to say that out loud, lolol.
