Personally, think that’s why Hereditary worked best in the first two thirds. I think that’s why the latter of the film and where it arrived didn’t really do much for me because it sorta fizzled the horror of an ever “unresolved” grief into something a lil more derivative.
yeah I agree with you. It felt like the writer was given a memo that the film needed 3x more scares and a conclusive end. I loved most of the 3rd act up until maybe last 10 minutes. You’re right, the ambiguity of grief was kinda flattened
