Personally, think that’s why Hereditary worked best in the first two thirds. I think that’s why the latter of the film and where it arrived didn’t really do much for me because it sorta fizzled the horror of an ever “unresolved” grief into something a lil more derivative.

yeah I agree with you. It felt like the writer was given a memo that the film needed 3x more scares and a conclusive end. I loved most of the 3rd act up until maybe last 10 minutes. You’re right, the ambiguity of grief was kinda flattened

cant choose i like all of em! srs! least fav wld be both bird songs production wise but the fact that most misunderstnad it as a lazy song makes me like it more. (+ birds have always figured as a prominent image in her mythology so theres tt) it’s not lazy at all it’s classic cheeky conceptual MIA poetics over weaker production... we rightfully deify thugger’s poetics (4 right and misguided reasons but that’s another story bt at least he’s seen as intentional revolutionary and sophisticated) but still refuse 2 afford MIA’s any nuance cos her mythology is messy in the best way
