The Bugaloos are a group of teenage musicians wearing insect-themed outfits containing wings and antennae that live in the Tranquility Forest. Though peace-loving and hippie-like, The Bugaloos are pursued by the ugly, evil, jealous old crone named Benita Bizarre who lives in a gigantic jukebox, and uses it to broadcast her own brand of blaring, obnoxious, unpleasant "music." A dreadful singer, she is furious at the popularity of The Bugaloos's more melodic, upbeat sound, and she plots elaborate, unsuccessful schemes to destroy or enslave them. She frequently makes use of a powerful ultrasonic weapon called the Stereo Zapper, which can render its victim unconscious in seconds.

More yapping, these designs are interesting bc the final show and the actors they picked really changed them a lot. I love how courage is drawn as this buffed, tall, short haired, hippie. Then they casted a short, baby-faced, toned, medium length hippie to play him. And I’m glad they did, I think it’s a cute contrast (I am sad that memorabilia always drawn him tall, he’s a short king damn it) Harmony having glasses is interesting tho, I wonder why they decided to remove it..other than his sleeves being bee striped too, his design haven’t changed *that much*. Same with joy and iq, some images here you can see joy with a more ballerina-like and her final fairy design, her hair is the most consistent here than her cute paperboy cut (which has a funny story, apparently in the bugaloos dvd commentary with Caroline it was a simple haircut mistake, yet it’s arguably the most iconic part of joys look, we would’ve had just long hair joy if the hairdresser didn’t mess up, honestly it makes her look ahead of her time since that cut wouldn’t be popular until later in the 70s). The most interesting thing I can say abt iq’s design is him using his pants as shoes in the first image, so wacky, (actually looking at these images again, his wings constantly changed, makes sense since his wings have the most complex design out of all of them) tbh it makes me really appreciate the actors they picked (thanks mick jagger)
