OK SO I'VE BEEN READING Y'ALLS REPLIES AND YOU GUYS HAVE REALLY GOOD IDEAS
A bit ago I asked for ideas regarding what would happen to Stan and the twins after Xeno is revived to create the spaceship with the Kingdom of Science. I was wrestling with the idea of potentially having Stan revived now and kept in jail, but also thought that the angst of having his kids grow up a bit without him was pretty juicy. But another person also gave the idea of the twins not being revived until Stan is when Xeno's work is finished. Thank you so much @stolenanxiety and @wyvernquill for your ideas!
So I had an idea.... what if I combined the two options? Stan is still held as a statue, the twins are revived now, but after a month or so, Xeno realizes that taking on rocket science and caring for two infants is far too much for him. After being worn down and doing a less than stellar job at both tasks, he makes the decision himself to repetrify them until Stan's release. That way, their last moments before being petrified aren't full of fear but instead done while they're at ease with someone they love.
I like this idea a lot because I enjoy the trade-off of Stan caring for them alone during the rescue and then Xeno caring for them alone now, as well as the drama from it- but I finally got to watch the latest two episodes and I saw them mention that they cannot test out the petrification where they are in Brazil because all of them are out of battery. So no medusa means Xeno couldn't repetrify them.
I have not read the manga so everything I know is based on the anime (minus like one more spoiler). Without spoiling anything important… could somebody who has read ahead tell me if this is a plausible option? 👀 Will they get their hands on another working medusa anytime soon?
