I like seeing a new style of writing.

I like seeing him bring back the og gang and messing around.

I like him mixing up the story. I like him focusing on ‘minor’ deities

I like him expanding the narrative.

I don’t give one flying fuck. I don’t care if he’s ’forgetting details’ who cares?! If you like the old novels that badly then just fucking read those?! No one’s forcing you to read the new ones?????

Also for people who don’t know I’m a Hellenist and I’m sick of seeing “ my religion isn’t a fandom! Stop making it a fandom… yap yap yap” like no disrespect but you realize they are talking about how the gods are talking about… specifically in a series…. Right? Just let people live man. Also “ Pjo isn’t Greek mythology “ like… thats what it’s about… not everything is 100% correct to the myths or to you… but that’s what’s it’s fucking talking about????????

Also if you hate people ‘giving gods sexuality’s’ then just don’t pay attention to those people. Block them. Scroll. Nobody is making you see that god as that, or forcing you to give a sexuality to a god.

Silencing the Demons by finally shitting on Go Away Romeo Pt. 1

So just to get it out of the way, yes they made Romeo the villain, and yes it broke me to see another one of these takes but my main issue with the comic is HOW BAD they fumbled this idea.

The comic plays with the idea of Romeo being a master manipulator, able to wrap vulnerable people around his finger, and I think the way they played with this idea was genuinely interesting at first. Specifically with how it tied to Romeo and Juliet’s dynamic, as a lot of Romeo’s abuse was often hidden by kind words and gestures of affection. It felt realistic in a way where you understood why exactly Juliet chose to stay with him (which I’ll get to Juliet later), but in season 2 they just reduced him to a stereotypical “EVIL” villian, like the rubbing hands together evilly and cackling type of villian in Saturday morning Cartoons😭

(Compare this to season 1 where panels like this were genuinely chilling, it gave off the impression that he WAS a competent, conniving, intelligent, and dangerous person)

And like his plan, wtf was his plan😭 the comic tries so hard to make you think he’s this master planner playing 4D chess with everyone but his plan made no sense.

HIS GOAL:

Gaining the power of both houses (and Verona I guess) by uniting the two through making a Capulet fall in love with him

Ok so he starts off by trying to court Rosaline, which works for awhile, but then he suddenly ditches Rosaline because she was “distracting” or whatever, courts Juliet instead and they fake their deaths run away for 3 years and in all those years Romeo waits for Juliet to go “oh I wanna go back to Verona maybe idk🤪✌️” LIKE WHAT😭

HIS WHOLE PLAN BANKS ON JULIET SAYING “oh I wanna go back” or “oh the people hate us Romeo start the plan” (which is honestly in character because if there’s anything this twink will do he will listen to his wife who he loves so much)

LIKE NO YOU DIDNT YOU FUCKING LIAR😭

Later He successfully takes over Verona and Rosaline and a couple of others start planning against him (which their plan also doesn’t make any sense btw) and Romeo tries to prevent this by marrying her or whatever, completely neglecting the fact that Juliet is still running around able to do whatever she wants and she’s cool with the staff at his castle which is how she was able to break in😭

Shit just happens and Romeo goes like “oh that was meant to happen, I planned for this” LIKE NO YOU DIDNT😭 STOP LYING TWINK😭

8 Beat Gag Magazin Scans Progress:

okay i feel guilty not giving any progress updates at all so here's what's going on.

i'm trying to scan all my magazines and upload them into a giant google drive at once, including rescanning my volume 5. also the app i use for scanning has that stupid watermark and i get a 3 day trial to remove it so that's when i want to save all the pictures. that way there's no water mark blocking anything.

as for when the scans will be complete, it'll be sometime during or after may (specifically after my echo & the bunnymen concert). i'm trading in my phone for a better refurbished one for my concert and i'll just lose all my progress so i'm waiting. i hope you all understand and i promise i'll get those scans out as quickly as i can!! :)

hai!! i kinda miss using this blog so i've decided to just rebrand!!

for now on, i will post mostly talking heads stuff, maybe other new wave bands i get into that don't fit my active side blog ( @tragic-vaudeville ), some nonband interests, and my art. i probably wont talk or post about oingo boingo much anymore regardless of the outcome of Danny's allegations. i may talk about the other band members and the songs/albums but that's it.

i hate how tumblr has this thing where you make side blogs that are tided to your main blog because i really dont want my main (@pawooonie) to appear to be active to others when i'm liking posts from this account. i also cant reply to posts under this account either or follow anyone back and it drives me INSANE!! like if you see @pawooonie liking your things and following you back, that's me but i'm doing all of that from this blog.

this especially bothers me because of the recent danny elfman situation that i want to separate myself from.

I’m gonna say it

I don’t really cringe at “ cringe” compilations.

I can criticize them if they are nsfw or sexual ( or something else that shouldn’t be put on TikTok or any social media that kids are on)

I can say that they need to put warnings or just say it’s not really my thing to watch.

Maybe I’m too young to be a hateful person? But I don’t know… I just I feel like I don’t really see it.

As someone who doesn’t really like sharpwolf I HATE when people don’t like an epic/ odyssey artist because they ship sharpwolf.

I’ve seen the best artist ever and they ship sharpwolf and guess what? I still like them because I personally think it’s stupid to hate someone just because they ship something. Agree or disagree idc because this is my opinion.
