EG Custom 1/144 GAT-XXXG-1705 "Build Strike Galaxy Wing"

This is pretty much a by-the-book upgrade of the Build Strike Exceed Galaxy that I built last year. This build combines parts from the Universe Booster Plavsky Power Gate and the 30MM Wing Option Set.

The Universe Booster Plavsky Power Gate set is clearly intented as an upgrade set for the HG Build Strike Gundam, and so a lot of the parts aren't compatible with the EG Build Strike. However, you can attach the two beam rifle parts to either side of the shield, and turn them into part of the backpack (as shown in the EG Build Strike Exceed Galaxy's manual.

The Wing option parts are really nicely designed. There are several cleverly designed modules that let the wings pose fluidly, although a lot of the attachments seem optimised for the 30 Minutes Missions series and it was difficult to get them to co-operate with the available attachments on this kit. I ended up connecting them to the Galaxy Fighter's wing attachments, and relocating the existing wings to the hard points on the legs. This helps maintain the level of articulation from the original 30MM backpack attachment.

I combined the existing Strike beam rifle with the extra beam rifle included in the Aile Strike Option Set I used on my previous EG custom, the Aile Strike Rouge Blade Excess. I love the effect that this gives the kit, making it look like a combination of the Strike Freedom, Wing Zero Custom (EW), and Narrative.

The Universe Booster Plavsky Gate Option Set also includes some effects parts in trans-yellow for the eponymous Plavsky Gate. This is held together with rather weak PC ball joints, but if carefully balanced you can pull of some really cool looking poses. Even though the parts aren't UV reactive, they're super vibrant and play well with the colour scheme of the rest of the kit, especially with the UV reactive eye parts and the UV reactive paint I used on the various camera sensors.

This was a fun custom, and I definitely want to try getting back into more complex customisations again after I move.

Build Metaverse was pretty disappointing. Just three episodes of nostalgic fluff. No substance at all. Basically just a big commercial for the even more disappointing metaverse "game" they released.

But at least we got some neat designs - like this Build Strike Exceed Galaxy

I needed something simpler after that big Ver.Ka kit last week - so this time I'm building an Entry Grade kit.

Obviously this is just a variation on the EG Strike kit. There's some new clear pink bits here and there... But it's nearly identical. And, like the previous EG Strike kit, the build is very quick and easy.

Somewhat unusually for an Entry Grade kit - there's a good number of accessories. You get the same beam rifle as the original EG strike... An alternate beam rifle that can also be used as a sword and separate into a smaller beam rifle... A shield... And the Galaxy Flyer.

Really, the only thing missing in this kit is some alternate hands. Obviously that's not going to happen in an EG, but I still wish I had more options.

Unsurprisingly, posing this kit is a little annoying. It's not that the articulation is bad... Everything moves where it needs to... But just due to the engineering of the Entry Grade line the joints are kind of weird and stiff and fragile. Limbs would rather pop off than move into position.

I really like the versatility we've got with these accessories.

As usual, I'm really impressed with this kit. The Entry Grade line just does not disappoint.

I thought it would be fun to give the above two kits a matching color scheme, as well as tint all of the effect parts to better unify them.

The Universe Booster was modded slightly, so it could fit on the main body easier.

Now for the big OC that I wanted to show off, Build Knight Gundam Cosmos.

A young knight who wanders the Saddrac World. The son of Knights of the Round Table members Vassal Duke Strike Freedom and Valkyrie Gundam Hazel.   While he is a skilled swordsman, his most unique trait is the ability to Runeshift, which he inherited from his mother. This is an ability that allows him to instantly change his appearance during combat, allowing him to better adapt. However, he will become exhausted quickly if he does it too much due to the amount of strain it puts on his whole body and due to still being in training. (This is eventually remedied through training by the time he becomes Star Knight Cosmos).

Personality Notes:

Acts serious, but is actually a dork.

While most would assume he feels tremendous pressure due to who his parents are, he actually doesn't feel much pressure from it. He doesn't seem to think that being their son is that big of a deal. He still takes his role as a successor seriously, but he doesn't put any additional stress on himself.

While he doesn't feel pressure from his station, he does strive to prove himself to his parents, which results in him being hard on himself. Despite his parents telling him time and time again that they are always proud of him, he still feels like he has something to prove. So, when he fails at something, he takes it hard before building himself back up again.

Runeshift Transformations (Will Be Updated Over Time):

Base Form (Design Basis: Gundam Build Strike): Default form. Nothing too special. His twin swords were made with help from Kira and take inspiration from his father’s own swords.

Gamma Shift (Design Basis: Build Gundam Mark-II): A form more based around magic. He named this form after his great-great-grandfather, Storm Knight Gamma Gundam.

He will be getting a form based on Star Build Strike and so on, I'll post them when the design is done.

Some fun with the MBON network test earlier. Had a 21 game win streak going with the bro’s. The game is intense!

In the process of putting final touches and touch-ups on Coyote, him got purple eyes now. That face is such a pain to paint. I did it with a toothpick and it took like two hours till I got it right.
