House Tour - Part 1
I think I have finally achieved building a house that looks like it fits in the world! Also I took way too many photos (yet somehow didn't get a photo of the whole house from the back) so this tour will be in two parts.
Here we take a moment for the age and a half I spent searching live edit and debug to find the same flowers to put outside the fence as there was outside the lot...
Me, attempting landscaping? Weird. Maybe one day I won't despise it so much?
Anyway here is a proper view of the front of the house. That little attic up there is where Hendrik lives so there's no photos. Also I wish build/buy had a filter for stained glass... And that we had more stained glass.
Here we have a little entryway where I put lights (not initially, only once I realised how dark it was at night oops)
Now for the vestibule. The idea is that Brandon can easily switch between more formal jackets etc when he's going out or coming in.
Then we have a mirror above the shelving which took me ages to decide how to clutter. Yes I did decide that is a jar of cookies that Delilah just regularly keeps full.
Moving from the vestibule into the hall and looking left.
You can see the dining room is first and beyond that is the living room.
We have lots of wall art options in game yet I still struggle finding pieces that are the right size for the walls I want to place them on.
Dining room from the other side.
Back in the hall and those double doors are to the outside deck but we're going left...
...for the lounge. Am I terrified a sim will light this and the rug will set the room on fire? Yes, yes I am.
CC wall art my beloved.
Back to the front of the house and directly opposite the vestibule entrance to the hall is the entrance to the kitchen.
I am very happy with this little alcove even though I'm not sure what to do when we need a high chair.
I'm actually super pleased with this kitchen because it looks similar to the inspo pic I was using. If we go through the door...
...we get to the back porch which of course has a bar.
You're probably wondering why there's a pocket of empty space out here, well Delilah needs somewhere to roll out her yoga mat.
Turning around you can see down the back steps is an archery target for Jennifer, and seating options because why not?
Did I spend too long making the stone rug into a path that curved nicely? I say I spent just the right amount of time on it. Then we have a gate because...
... your pools should be fenced in when you have children.
Room for Jennifer's hobby of sunbathing.
I do think sims can swim right through the cc pool floaties so they should be safe.
And yes the grill is there in case Delilah wants to cook on it.
Jumping back inside, now looking at the hall between the vestibule and kitchen.
I just wanted a cute reading nook mid stairs. It's a little too short for Delilah to sit in alas.
Bay window at the top of the stairs...
Super fun and not at all creepily bare upstairs hallway. On the left we have door to Delilah's room, then door to the laundry, then small gap to the stairs up. On the right is door to the second lounge/nursery and then door to Jennifer's room. The door right ahead is Brandon's office,
