01/08/20 ♡ Long time no see! Honestly, lockdown has been really taxing on my mental health, and a lot of my journal pages are stuff I keep to myself. A lot of mental health ramblings and reflections. But I’m finally starting new medication, and I hope this will give me a step up ♡ Here is my August spread - hopefully I can keep on top of things! How are you all? Can you believe it’s already August?
i decided to create a not that autumnal but definitely somewhat autumnal spread for this month. i used a line-calendar since i will be having fuck ton of midterms!!! how exciting!!!!!

I’m not sure how I feel about the title pages but I really like the way the rest of the spreads turned out!

This month I decided to give up on doing weekly spreads — I don’t do enough to justify wasting two whole pages per week anyway — and instead I came up with the Events and Goals page. The Events are important things happening during the month like birthdays, public holidays, important appointments, etc.
And the Goals are things I’d like to get done at some point this month, but if they don’t get done it’s not the end of the world. So kind of a to-do list but with less pressure? I find that if I try to stick to a rigid schedule of things like “This needs to be done on this specific day”, I end up not wanting to open my journal because it just reminds me that I haven’t done that thing yet and I feel bad about it, so I end up not keeping up with my journal after a few weeks or even months.
I also went with a bit more of a... less visually ‘busy’ style than I usually do for the most part, just because I didn’t want to spend days working on the layouts like I’ve done in the past. That has also been a big factor in my not keeping up with things because I lose motivation very quickly.
So! Basically this month’s layout is all about doing as little as possible, while still keeping it visually pleasing, and not putting too much pressure on myself lol I’ll post more pictures at the end of the month to show how everything was (hopefully) filled out.
