Hello! Pinned posts are apparently a thing now, so although I’m late, I thought I should make one ;w; I’ve been fairly inactive for a while now - life is busy - but I’m back at least for now and I’m going to try my best not to vanish again (thought no promises - if you do find I’ve been inactive for a while and want to get in touch, my links are below!) ❤

My name is Nísa. I’m 21 and I’m from Northern Ireland! I’m recovering from stage 4 blood cancer and have fairly significant CICI (chemotherapy induced cognitive impairment) which I am trying to get through as best I can! I also work as a freelance artist, so running my business will sometimes take priority over studying in my free time (hence the periods of inactivity!)

My cancer is not a sensitive issue, I am very open to talking about it- so if you have any questions or would like to know details, send me a message! I know we all love learning here and I obviously know a LOT about the treatment process - and I’m happy to provide a firsthand experience if you’d like!

Hellooo! Gosh, it’s been a while since I posted and I’m sorry for that… I’ve kind of hit compassion burnout. I hope I can eventually recharge enough to get this blog going again ;_; But now, I need to ask you guys for a bit of help!

I recently launched my very first Kickstarter, a cherry blossom shaped bag 🥺

There are eight days left in it - we’re already funded, but I really need to get the word out as I have excess stock at the moment! It’s my first design and a really big step in my business, and I really desperately want to see it succeed ;_;

30/05/21 ♡ I got a new bullet journal in, and it had a ‘self portrait’ page! So this was mine😅 Lots of photos from Iceland, lots of mushrooms, lots of travel quotes (I have another full page dedicated to quotes!) and some memes too...

06.04.21 / listen, i’ve only embroidered twice or thrice in my life but i impulsively embroidered my fjallraven last week without even drafting a pattern for some reason. i might’ve been possessed lol. but i’m happy with how it turned out all things considered! in other news, i baked a batch of vegan red velvet cupcakes last night and i think i found my holy grail recipe. such good vibes today. i hope you have a grand tuesday ♡

hello again!

It has been a while since I’ve been here, omg 😭 I am so sorry. I work freelance as an artist, and since November I have not had a break - my queue has been consistently around 6 people haha! I’m certainly not complaining, but I have been very inactive on the studying front ><

I’ve also got my vaccination - both of them, which surprised me since the UK is doing a 12 week interval! It doesn’t apply to high-risk individuals though, apparently. I’ve also been working on a cool new project with my art and have been focusing a lot on my business.

Haha, I’ve been told this a lot recently on my instagram! Nísa is actually a chosen name - it’s not my real name. My real name is Lana, and I’m from Northern Ireland (all my history is Irish/Scottish, really)! I was bullied over my name growing up, though, so I decided to choose my own name.

It was actually 100% unintentional that I used an Arabic name - I went for my favourite male name in Iceland (Neisti) and just changed it to something unique for myself. I only found out after the fact that it was an existing name! :)

Hey lovelies!! This month has been crazy - I think I’m going back into mental health help (something I’ve been delaying for years) but it’s gonna be like a year long wait, sobs. I’m also piled with commissions, charity zine deadlines, and I’ve been trying to balance that with portfolio work to get ready for when conventions start up again!! (and I did a new art piece recently which I am SO happy with omg I don’t want to spam this account with my work but AHHH). I’ve got some bullet journal pages to show you guys soon, though, and I’ve been working away at some French! 💞

I also have some exciting news: I’ve got some freelance work lined up for a US company! Plus, I’ve been invited to work a couple of zines as a guest artist - and I hit a milestone I was excited to hit ♡ I’m also getting more commissions coming in!! I’ll put my latest artwork here under a read more - it took me ages, but I really enjoyed it :’)
