In Another Place opens on May the 21st 2018 and runs until July 28th 2018 and is at the Leicester Print Workshop as well as 9 other partner organisations and 10 billboards across the East Midlands in association with CVAN EM (the Contemporary Visual Arts Network East Midlands).

The public opening night is on the 25th of May for the late nights event in the Cultural Quarter and Canteen at LCB Depot. All are welcome.

Artist Statement:

Through the use of existing works (by Sally Rose Renner) and the manipulation of retail reproductions (by Bulb Studios); the artist is questioning the originality of a reproduction and the appropriation or ownership of an image from/for the web site www.iloveleicester.

Focusing on light and dark, altering and enhancing the depth and scale of original images, teasing out memories, as we fill in the blanks that make up the landscapes that we recognise but can now see as another place, such as the Leicester skyline.

Instagrams from the tumult of daily life.

I don’t think I would want to get into the whole business of trying to caption every single instagram on this blogpost. It would take up waaaaay too much of my time and yours (if  you’re actually bored enough oooor interested enough in me to read through the whole entry!) And as you all know, my little “captions”  always seem to turn into mini paragraphs of tragic self-explaination. If I continue to blab endlessly  about why I refuse to caption all pictures in this post,I just  might come up with another mini paragraph.

Oh wait, look, I just did. Shoot.

Now, before  I drive you insane with my random ramblings, let’s get down to business shall we. So here are some instagrams from the eventful month that was! Last month was pretty packed with tons of activities,both personal and work related. I’m happy I got to take some snapshots here and there while I went along with the motions of the daily grind.   Family, friends, food, blushing brides, hotel breakfasts, work, photographs, books, birthdays, doodles, weddings, karaoke (and  even some  snuck-in downtime at the beach)  are some of the beautiful things that make up my day to day existence.  Thank you Lord. Life is good!
