I think Jetfire might end up liking learning and some sciences, like previous iterations, but he was never really given the tools to apply himself. Kind of like how Bulkhead is often assumed to be unintelligent for his size & clumsiness, but surprises people when he gets to talking about engineering. (I wonder if it was foreshadowed by how often we see him making sculptures, not just paintings, in the early episodes) The jettwins r very much neurodivergent guys who were kinda screwed over by a system that doesn’t really know what to do with them TO ME

And also. Gorm. :] I think Jetstorm was created for Beast Machines, which doesn’t have Grimlock? <- Don’t quote me on that tho. But under different circumstances, he was pursued by Blackarachnia. I thought it would be fun to pair him with another character who was involved with her, even if it’s not the same iteration at all haha. Maybe blue-violet are just Grimlock’s favorite colors or something? xd But Jetstorm here, I don’t think he has it in him to be manipulative like BA, nor does he have much reason to be? Maybe if he does have to hide his emotions more as the “cool-headed” one, another bot that has siblings and feels ostracized/hostile to outsiders would be a good friend for him to have, I’m curious to see how that relationship could develop :D

Isn't there a type of contemporary art that uses elements of nature for sculptures/paints? Land art?

Perhaps jetfire and bulkhead connect through their distinct fascinations with flora (and minerals)?

It felt like a stroke of lightning when I realized if they had a kid, it’d probably be SF down to the letter. ksjdjaksj, I’m rly happy with the creative liberties i’m taking with him so far :D

Ik his color scheme is kinda atypical; (tho he has had quite a wide array of colors in his designs before—) but when i scribbled down both his parents’ main colors, you can see i thought of like, a little childlike drawing of some flowers on green grass. It seemed very bulkfire to me somehow idk. I just couldn’t resist giving a big ol spaceship the look & soul of a drawing of some flowers. I just hope it looks harmonious enough (о´∀`о)

Haven’t made it concrete yet but it makes him look like Bulkhead comes up to bout his shoulders（＾∇＾）hahaha

Though they do know why! The con specs Jetfire has from Starscream has height/size embedded as a bit of a recessive trait, or at the very least smth JF missed out on cause he was GMO’d, not forged with it. That combined with Bulkhead (just look at him) made him really big.

Now I’m thinking of Grimlock & Jetstorm raising the mini-dinobots and they’re either terrifyingly huge or itty bitty little metal reptiles lmaoo
