anyone and everyone can blush but not everyone is going to blush a rosy pink color

people with darker skin can blush but it may not be visible to the naked eye or it might be a deeper red color

writing something inclusive with no specific race means being inclusive with how you explain blushing as well

ex: face heating up, blushed/blushing (with no descriptives), explain it with other variables as well - like a chin dipped down, stammering, parted lips, enlarged pupils, etc

I don’t know who decided that blushing was a white people thing only but they’re wrong. Blushing is a vascular phenomenon and people with dark skin have the same circulatory system as everyone other human alive.

Will a black person blush with rosy pink cheeks? No, of course not. But that doesn’t mean their face won’t heat up and can darken with a warm color, like dark red or burgundy.

Blushing is a verb capable by any human. Just be wary of how you describe blushing, especially if you’re trying to stay inclusive! <3

This is the same anon from the longer message but I just wanted to say that I am someone with much darker skin than most so this is my first hand experience. Please don’t feel like you have to follow my views only!

Adding onto what that other person said, people with darker complexions can go pale as well. Of course, they aren’t going to become ghostly pale but they can still have the redness or warmth drain from their face.

There’s a major difference between physical capabilities and visible capabilities and sometimes you need to look beyond a dictionary definition.

Reddit threads and forums by darker skin people are a very helpful way to find out information like this if you don’t experience it yourself.

Even if you think something is a stupid question, it’s better to ask and be wrong and be able to fix your mistake right away than not ask, still be wrong, and then face consequences.

thank you! i always get a little bit nervous writing about disabilities that i don’t have myself so i always do a little bit of research first from (in this case) autistic creators and how they view the world differently from me. her name is blanking on my mind right now but that girl on tiktok that’s obsessed with bugs, she’s adorable, gives me a lot of inspiration too! and i’m always open to criticism like if i use an outdated term or say something offensive by accident - if i messed up, i take full accountability. it’s not fair for you guys to not have any representation and if i’m able to help give you a little bit, then i’m happy to do that.

if there are any genshin blogs out there who actually have said disabilities and write about them from a first-hand count then that’s even better! i haven’t seen any so far but i also haven’t really searched hard so i will keep my eyes peeled for them :)
