Joong Brothers have a special place in my heart Joong's family trip in Bums Log #12
Okay I’m OT8 but… what if I said… Bumjoong is actually my bias?
Hongjoong + his brother on Hong Seok-cheon's Jewel Box
Please write that drabble and I'll sacrifice my life for you
genre: infidelity (LMAO), angst, suggestive
pairings: brother-in-law! bumjoong x reader, mentions of husband! hongjoong x reader (i come bearing a gift just for u cherrie 🧌 come here shawty) @etherealcherrie
You hate that you met Bumjoong first. That was the first hiccup the universe gifted you.
It was a whirlwind romance, doused in the mystery of living an entire love in the expanse of a single night. Neither of you left a name or number on the bedside table when the morning came, an unspoken rule to not break the mirage of a perfect night by trying to extend it into the day.
Enough time had passed, and the brief escapade had already drifted from your conscious mind. You met someone new—someone lovely, devoted, and ready to walk the big mile with you.
Hongjoong was excited for the two of you to meet, saying something along the lines of 'It's kind of freaky how similar you guys are sometimes and you both like shitty movies, so there's no doubt you'll get along.' to help ease the anxiety that started overwhelming you on the way to meet his older brother for the first time.
His older brother, Bumjoong, owned a small jazz bar—promising the both of you free drinks in celebration of the new engagement and meeting his future sister-in-law for the first time, saying that the introduction was “long overdue, but his schedule never worked out” with any of the arrangements we'd already planned with the rest of his family.
The dawning fell over your eyes like a sheer cloth. Canvassing over the sight of a slow pour and a familiar face from behind the bar—the slow paling of your figure as you recalled the first and only time you’ve met him. Vivid recollections of your face pressed against motel sheets, a lick up your spine, a strangers sweat and whispered praise. You feel sick and you berate yourself for somehow not noticing. It was their eyes.
You saw Hongjoong in him immediately.
but a few years later with your marriage on the rocks for a multitude of unknown reasons that could never excuse you for the crimes you keep failing to control yourself from committing—
He always begged for one last time. Kneeling and sobbing quietly in the middle of a lonely kitchen in a rapidly wrinkling suit, and conveniently on days you didn't know where Hongjoong was because he was always too busy to let you know.
Only the presence of a dim blue kitchen light would know the reverence he kissed you with, knowing how lonely your secrets were.
The wrong man lays under you, and you see remnants of your mistake on each of their faces when you drink in their shapes on different nights.
You just don't know which mistake was worse—
Seeing Hongjoong whenever you looked at his brother or not being able to unsee him in your husband.
