(X) "... Sometimes. It's a little more complex then that, but that's the simplest answer: sometimes." A surprisingly personal question, he didn't seem like the sort that would pry into one's personal history. Or maybe that's Sirena's influence. Vulcan's never sure.
Though, she's not sure if she misses her old self, or just how things were back then. Everything was a lot more simple & it's hard for her to tell if she's really changed that much. Some people could easily tell they have changed, like Sirena could, but Vulcan didn't have that sort of self insight. Well, personality wise anyway, physically? She knows damn well her body changed a lot... she missed having her ears & tail.
"Do you miss your old self? I mean, I don't think you're the original God of Death, are you?"
His eyes dart to the side for a moment, thinking on how to answer her question. It wasn’t as if he was keeping anything from her, more like… He just couldn’t remember very well.
“It’s been a long time since I’ve thought about it, the seat of Thanatos may not be as strong as that of Zeus or Poseidon but there is power within it. However… Not many pursue such a seat as there is much death to be seen. Guiding souls, knowing when the ones around you are near death or even being able to know when a death date is for others.” He looks back at her, golden gaze looking into her own.
“Not only that, but the God of Death cannot exactly die in the way that other Gods can. I may be able to be restrained, yes, but for the seat to be emptied the previous holder would have to relinquish it personally. In essence… They would have to allow themselves to die purposely.”
