The B.W. army shoe is a sneaker designed by Adidas in the mid 70's for the German army (B.W. being short for Bundeswehr or the German Defense Forces) and eventually adapted by the Belgian and Austrian forces that has become an under the radar minimalist classic. Devoid of branding and with a bit more shape and sturdiness than chuck taylors or plimsolls, the BW shoe has been adapted by high end designers like Maison Margiela and Hedi Slimane but I think my favorite (and most affordable) of the new adaptations has been the model by Swedish cult brand Svensson* made with leather and using welded rubber soles, it's a smarter more durable take on the classic shape.
