#Repost @hoptilidrop Had a little trip to Manchester last weekend. First stop: @bundobust . It was a bit of a flying visit - I only had time for one beer so I needed to make a good choice! No pressure. There was a great selection available on the taps from a variety of breweries - a fair few IPA's, a sour, and a BA imperial stout... Any guesses which I chose...? Of course it was the stout. You knew that. . The stout in question was Bourbon Barrel Aged from local brewery, @squawkbrewingco I've seen some great reviews of this one doing the rounds on the old 'gram so I was pretty chuffed it was on tap. I really enjoyed this - thick, slick body with a jet black appearance. It had a really rich malt flavour with tonnes of molasses and bitter cocoa. The bourbon flavour was evident but not overpowering - for me it was definitely enough. Bundobust (Manchester) – December 2019

Try out the traditional Indian flavours at Bundobust

The Manchester branch for Bundobust is where we decided to make another visit last week. Other branches include Leeds & Liverpool. We love going there as it provides small portions of a variety of Indian items and it’s fully Vegetarian, so you feel healthy. We usually have Okra fries on our visits but this time, we didn’t get them as we wanted to explore the other options.

Bundobust has a lunchtime express deal with 2 dishes for £7.50, available Mon-Fri Noon - 4pm. It’s not badly priced normally but every little bit of saving helps :)

From the lunchtime express menu, we indulged in;

Masala Dosa (ve) [£6] - A true classic with a thin crepe filled with spicy potatoes, which you can then top with lentil and aubergine soup. The aubergine provides that niche and was a very nice touch

Bundo Chaat [£4.75] - The tamarind sauce was beautiful and so addictive. This dish is samosa pastry with chickpeas, potatoes, onions, little crispy bits with yoghurt and tamarind chutney to top it off

Then, the items from the normal menu were;

Raghda Pethis (ve) [£5.50] - This was not to our expectations, and put simply it’s mushy peas with mashed potato cakes and a bit of spices. Doubt we’ll be having this again

Gobi Manchurian [£5.50] - Thick, reduced sauce with soft, yet crunchy bites of cauliflower and mushroom...need we say more *licking our lips*

We’ve still not got through the full menu, and there are definitely some items we’ll be coming back for.

Saturday 3rd March 2018: Today’s slice of heaven; spending an hour with lots of gorgeous babies at the Leeds Kitty Cafe then going for yet more incredible food from the new menu at Bundobust. Happiness overload!

Saturday 3rd February 2018: Steven and I had our first visit to bundobust of 2018 and it didn’t disappoint. Veggie Vada Pav and vegan onion, broccoli and kale bhajiis washed down with a few G&T’s (obvs!)….TO DIE FOR!!

Saturday 6th January 2018: We finally got to see Philip and Lynnette today (over a week later than planned due to all the illness kicking around) and they delivered us one of the best Christmas presents ever!! Perfection! My Aunt and Unc know us so well- thank youuuuuuuu!!!! xx
