i could just make this entire list scenes from Be My Favorite, to be honest. Pisaeng and Kawi are so, so fucking soft, but this is one of my absolute favorite moments. you just know Pisaeng's heart was crawling up his throat.

HISTORY 3: TRAPPED | TANG YI x MENG SHAOFEI

your former enemy now lover, one of if not THE most powerful man in Taipei, stopping in the middle of heated kissing to kneel at your feet and reverently press a kiss to the wound you received while protecting his sister? FUCK. i didn't consider this one of my favorite BLs but i literally can't get this scene or them out of my head, so i might be wrong about that.

GAWD. what the FUCK man. i feel like crying just briefly rewatching that scene alone, it's such a gentle reprieve from everything going on in their lives, an impossibly soft moment captured between them. and seeing White so playful in love? AUGH.

i could also fill all 5 of these just with Moonlight Chicken moments but i wanted to include a moment that wasn't necessarily between a couple. i love this moment of family and peace at the end of everything, the way everyone comes together and things are different but that's okay. there's so much i always want to say about MC but i feel so much for it i can't ever really properly put it into words (shocking from me, i know.) this show is just so special to me.

which are your top 3 favorite intimate scenes you've seen in bl? (kissing scenes count)

ALRIGHT my last ask in my inbox and the one i wanted to give some proper attention to. my answers for this might be a little odd? NC scenes are cool, i'm largely asexual but i can enjoy them, but i'm really going after the word intimate here and intimacy can be so many different things.

the gasp i gusped when i saw this scene the first time. this was almost peak intimacy for me. the offering of oneself, the silent plea, the reluctance, the gentle resignation, the quiet guilt free acceptance. body language is one of the sexiest things to me and this scene felt like watching two souls flay themselves alive in front of each other. it was like wen opened his chest and said "my love for you is like a garden of eden in my chest, the apple is there for you to pick" and jim cast his eyes away because the temptation of the apple was too great and he couldn't bear the consequences of taking it for himself.

i don't know that i'll ever move on from this, and of course it's another p'aof moment. this was fucking erotic. this still makes me hold my breath and makes my chest flutter. i said it in the tags of a post once but never properly; in a recent study from UC San Diego researchers have discovered that humans can use the sense of touch to feel the difference between surfaces that differ by just a single layer of molecules. our sense of touch is fucking incredible and then to do this?

i once had someone i knew flirt with me while i was at work. they couldn't be overt, couldn't be too much because i was working and i was being a professional, so he took my hand and ran his fingers across the inside of my wrist and my palm so fucking slowly like this, said "i'll see you later" in a low tone with this fucking smirk, and i haven't been able to forget it 10 years later.

this is just a different level of intimacy entirely and i'll rotate this in my brain until i die.

god this scene. in both manner of death and triage we have a moment in the show where the couple just takes care of each other and i love that. i love seeing men care for each other.

sure, this scene did eventually lead to sex (it's implied i believe in the show but pretty overt in the book) but there's just something about showering with someone. tan comes into the shower and just gently washes bunn, and this is after some of the most stressful moments of their life. they've experienced immeasurable amounts of trauma, narrowly avoided death, but in the solace of this quiet shower they can take care of one another, put back the pieces that have threatened to fall apart. it's such a beautiful little moment and done with so much gentle care. i really wish i could've put a gif of the whole scene here (but i'll add it to my list of sets to make.)

i mean this is the gold star right now, right? there's a reason yai is my pfp these days and it's because that was my exact facial expression throughout this whole scene. gobsmacked, elated, excited -- i really ran a whole gambit of emotions (i still am tbh)

i saw this moment out of context as the show was airing and i was like oh hell yeah a feisty lil guy - and then i got to the scene and i was like oh yeah no that's actually completely fair, he deserves a chomp. i would be so pissed if i was ai di and probably would have done the same. (and i enjoy you can see him think about going back in for another kiss tho)

sorry for the blood but like. this scene. this fucking scene. i can't remember ever crying so hard at anything. an open heart massage or resuscitative thoracotomy is a very real thing and is only performed in extreme emergencies when sign of life is still present. i don't think it would have done anything to help tin given the circumstances but the absolute desperation from sing to do anything to save his best friend was gut wrenching. and then to move from this into tol's grief and denial? this episode fucked me up so badly i had to take a lap around my house and do some breathing exercises.

i wasn't going to include kiseki: dear to me again but truly, what in the strawberry huckleberry fuck was chen dong yang thinking here? you're going to teach ai di about loss? ai di??? the orphan who lost his mom to a drug addiction??? who has only ever tried to protect chen yi? yeah, no, i think he knows a thing or two about loss, i don't think this "lesson" was necessary. i'm so fucking glad i wasn't watching this as it came out, i remember the screaming on my dash and i was FILLED with fear.

i did really enjoy we could see how aware of his surroundings ai di is at all times, though. his eyes scanned the area for just a moment and he was locked ON to that gun. baby boy might be a feral menace but he's good at what he does.

AAAA JAMIE YOU JUST GET ME - and i promise not to talk about the novel vs show differences too much

inspector m and his big idiot crush on bunn and complete lack of game. he fumbled such a bad bitch like bunn but it's okay because he ended up in one of my favorite ships ever (yes i acknowledge it's just crumbs of a ship but i adore them.) i'm obsessed with any fanfics that have them being best friends after everything settles down because the groundwork was definitely there.

i want him to squish me like a bug. i just enjoy this is one of the few scenes where we really see tan's dam side come out and see this side of his life. it's easy to forget that tan is a criminal and has been working for a crime family, it's his love for bunn that brings out his sense of justice and protective side.

i've talked about the shower scene before but ugh. UGH. give me more soft, caring moments like this. like, this is behavior i'd expect from a couple that has been together for a while and i love that. so many shows are all about a couple getting together and the lead up to that but i like the adult relationship we get from tan and bunn and these little moments of love and maturity we see from their relationship. (and this is one of the few scenes actually in the book too lmao)

i thought for SURE his confrontation with gun was going to end up a cringy 'i'm taking you into the station' bullshit but LMAAAAO. nope, m just unloads his ENTIRE CLIP into this man. god that was so sexy of him, chasing him down while holding in his guts and taking his revenge. fuck yes baby. and just keeping that cold stare the whole time? oughghgh.

"Why do you look like this every time I come to see you? You are stubborn, you know? So stubborn that I don't want you to leave my sight. So stubborn that I don't want to let you go anywhere. I'm really sorry… for not being by your side. It's my fault. I'm not so stubborn as you. imo this is some of max's best acting. this scene really drove home tan's absolute devotion and pure love he has for bunn. all he's ever wanted was to keep bunn safe and he feels like a complete failure because he didn't. and then to add in that at this point in time bunn is still very much angry with him but he doesn't care, bunn can be angry with him because at least that means bunn is alive and well. UGH. TANBUNN I LOVE YOU SO MUCH.

bonus because they're like one of my top 3 ships:

the fact that this is one of the handful of times we see inspector m smile, much less laugh. i just know if we'd been given a sequel they would've been the cutest fucking couple. i need more moat fic to exist in the world.

three post-canon headcanons for kiseki, go!

WHOAGH OKAY i wanted to keep this one until i was done with work and could put some serious brain power into it.

This is gonna be a sad one but I don't think Zhou Ming Lei lived for very long after leaving the family, probably 5-10 years or less. He looked so tired in the last episode and so worn down. I think they got married, maybe a year or so after they left the family, and after his death I don't think Chen Dong Yang moved on but I think he continued to live in the quiet, understated house that they had gradually turned into a cozy home together.

I fully believe the conversation in the car about death was Ai Di and Chen Yi's version of a proposal. I don't think either of them give a shit about a proper marriage, laws have never been something they've had much regard for anyway and they certainly don't need a piece of paper to show their love. What they have is forged in blood and acts of devotion and loyalty. I do think maybe one day, when his guilt has faded, Chen Yi asks for Zong Yi's help to make a cake for Ai Di to give him a proper ring, something with a unique design so any time Ai Di punches someone it leaves the imprint on their skin. (Ai Di fucking loves it.)

Zong Yi mentions at one point in the show that he is attending treatment for his memory loss. I believe with time it does get better, but not completely. Some things can only be healed so much. He has some particularly bad brain fog days, gets more easily frustrated on those days, and still has to reach for his notebook from time to time. He doesn't like to talk to Fan Ze Rui about it, doesn't like the way his face shutters with guilt. Maybe someday they each decide to go to therapy; either together or separately.

idk how accurate these are but they're just kinda thoughts i have floating in my head, i don't really get too attached to any headcanons bc they're really just that, silly little thoughts to try and spackle in some gaps, but i think they're entertaining to think about!
