Grooming Day! It’s going to be catch up grooming month! Bubbles the Fuzzy Lop loves her groomer and enjoyed a long session. She’s our most senior rabbit at about 12 years old. Mama Sandy, golden girl, is about 10-11 and still battling bladder sludge as photo shows. Bob the Vulcan with pointy ear nubs enjoyed his session immensely. And Malcolm Willowthorn had the first of several sessions. A little girl’s Christmas was ruined when her elderly rabbit passed away. The girl advocates for rabbits everywhere even though she’s only 8 years old. So a few days before Christmas, Papa hoomin is going to reward her rabbit advocacy be delivering Corey Glover to her as a nod from the Great Rabbit and tell her that Corey will be with her for many years to come. It is good. Unfortunately, Elvis’ eye recheck revealed he has glaucoma. So he started on a new eye drop which he needs 3 times a day for the rest of his life. He’s going to see a veterinary ophthalmologist ASAP. We also learned removal of the eye in rabbits is not without significant risk. But Elvis is a real trooper and lets me hold his head up for his eye drops so they don’t just roll out. The new drop is syrupy and I have to tilt his head so it’s evenly distributed. Elvis’ spirit is exemplary. In this photo, you can see how his left eye, or the eye on the right side of the photo, is pushed into his skull more than the other eye. Hi, you can call me Pink! I had an embarrassing day. Oh, I had a lovely ride in the Bunny Limo with Papa hoomin as chauffeur. But then I met the new bunny vet and she called PH over and showed him that I’m not a boy like the lady said who left me behind. And Mama hoomin OBVIOUSLY didn’t check me thoroughly when I got here or I’d have been spared such embarrassment! But MH is busy, you know? I still love her and let me tell you, now she understands why I like my neighbor, Billy Idol! He and I sing to each other the songs of our people! Well, I need my beauty rest.
