I was driving home from a distant exotic veterinary hospital very late at night. The headlines of the day were all about certain geographic locations very far away. The car Made its noise and created quiet of its own. I heard a little voice from a young woman in my head. The only other passenger was my Rabbit, Rebecca. It said “where is Falluja?“ In a totally innocent voice but also with an implied worried tone that it might be somewhere nearby. I replied “it’s a long ways away and you will never hear about it except sitting in the waiting room at the vet.“

The legend says that one day Milarepa was disturbed during his meditation by a deer. The dear was terrified so Milarepa patted the deer to comfort it and began to sing about #violence and #compassion. Suddenly a dog that was chasing the deer appears. Milarepa starts singing a song about #anger to the dog and the dog laid down with her back against the deer. The dog had a red collar so Milarepa knew that the master was about to come. In fact a man suddenly rush into the scene. Milarepa tries to stops the hunter from killing the deer but the hunter shoots an arrow at him. However the arrow could not hit the yogi. Milarepa, without showing any anger, starts singing a #song. In the song Milarepa asks: “What life could a hunter that kills a man expect next? Would he be a deer or a dog?”. The hunter moved by the words became his disciple and this #legend as the song of the deer, the song of the dog, and the song of the hunter became very famous all around Tibet.

Yes we are so happy to say Mama Coco and Kai the blue-eyed Samurai had a first intro last night and it was love at first sight! Unfortunately, we had to separate them while Papa hoomin sets up a nice, roomy bonding space in Strawberry Fields (Strobs’ old digs renamed in her honor). MH will post video of the intro tomorrow.
