I know you've considered kiwis and owls for bird au Taloupe, but have considered some sort or corvid? Ravens and crows are known for their intelligence, after all!

True, but I like to stick with a theme that fits the element character has. Taloupe being and Earth Glass, I’d make him a bird that can’t fly or prefers to stay on ground rather than flying.

Out of curiosity, is it common for establishments (like restaurants, gyms, or even recreational places like amusement parks) to have nectar on hand? (For paying customers, of course.)

They are often sold in vending machines all over the places.
