Okay but listen, best friend Harry and single mom reader; he’s always overprotective of the two and constantly refers to her daughter as “his little girl” and they’re both his favourite girls and I’m just so soft for that. Like Harry’s head over heels for his best friend and he wants nothing more than to be the guy that wakes up beside her in the morning and make the little one pancakes or waffles for breakfast and cuddle together every night. I just hurt my own feelings.
oh my god oh my god the face i just made. like it was clear from the beginnings of the pregnancy that the birth father wasn’t in the picture so harry immediately stepped up from day one!!! he went to every doctor’s appointment with y/n and every birthing class and held her hand in the delivery room. he’s the baby girl’s godfather. he would volunteer to babysit her (with anne helping him) when she was a newborn so y/n could get a little bit of sleep. and he stays over a lot of the time and makes breakfast and takes baby girl to daycare and to school and just generally helps y/n with everything a birth father would do and yeah maybe he wouldn’t mind if baby girl had his last name and maybe he wouldn’t mind if y/n had his last name and maybe when they all go to the park together he doesn’t correct strangers who tell him that his daughter and wife are so beautiful and that they’re so lucky to be a family!! because he wants it to be true so badly!!
