The green veil finally sold!
(Sorry, this isn't really advertising. It's more the reverse. "This thing is out of stock and will probably never be in stock again!" I'm just really happy.)
One isn't supposed to play favourites with children, but it's absolutely my favourite of the first year creations. It was one of the first things I ever made for this business. Back then I thought most of my work would be stencilling and block-printing fabric for medieval costumes, and in my opinion, this veil is the most beautiful thing I could imagine making with only half a metre of fabric. Imagine it waving in the wind! Picture the spin factor!
My first sale (a table at a local medieval recreation event) was an eye-opening lesson, as people walked right past these things I laboriously sewed and stencilled, and went, "Holy crow! These embroidery patterns DISSOLVE? That's amazing! I've never seen that before!"
Well, that called for a business pivot. I spent most of the next year designing embroidery patterns.
It's kinda cool to have this design sell the week I launched the print-on-demand patterns that are my way of circling back to it. I didn't forget; I just had to shift my tactics.
(I do still sometimes sell mylar stencils for fabric painting and take commissions for unique designs, but for copyright reasons, I couldn't print any more of this one. I'd have to use a different design.)
