random beetle burrowing bug i saw on the stairway
{thank you for the ID @hazardous-organism !}
found them. the saddest bug
@skeletalapothecary submitted: Hello Mr. OneNiceBugPerDay! I found this little guy on my car in [removed] (please remove the location). Could you tell me what they are, please?
Thank you and have a nice day! :>
Hello! Thank you, I have had a nice day. This sweet round angel looks like a two-lined burrowing bug, which is a type of true bug in the family Cydnidae, collectively known as the burrowing bugs. They dig into the soil and feed on plant roots. :)
@robotzebra submitted: Some more nice bugs for you. I found this striking red fellow while walking the dog. And after i was done taking their picture I noticed that this golden friend had landed on my arm.
Then later on my walk I came across this shield bug ( who appears to be a Adomerus biguttatus)
(I'm in northern Sweden if you want to try and id the beetles)
Three very nice pals! Adomerus biguttatus looks right. They’re a type of burrowing bug. The red friend looks like a poplar leaf beetle, Chrysomela populi. The other looks like a leaf beetle in Lochmaea!
@klumquat submitted: Beetle I think? I found it in my pillbug enclosure, any idea what it is?
Nope, it’s a true bug! I’d need a better look at it to say for sure but it looks like a two-lined/peanut burrowing bug, Pangaeus bilineatus. Can’t imagine it would be harmful to your isopods although if I recall they feed on roots so it may starve in there.
Look at my smol shield bug Tritomegas sexmaculatus (pol. Siedliszek sześcioplamy)
“Pied Shield Bug” (Tritomegas bicolor)
...a species of burrowing bug (Cydnidae) that is known to occur across North Africa, Europe and Central Asia. However, it becomes rarer in the more northern parts of its range, especially the British Isles where it is absent from Scotland and Ireland. True to its family name T. bicolor is often found on the ground but is also common on or around its host plants, Lamium spp. and Ballota nigra.
