i not only think that the "finale" 9x22 was boring (upstead "saved it a bit") and only an 8x16 2.0 was just boring, the second half of the season was really "not good" in terms of quality, I didn't think it was about upstead not bad they were in the background and happy that counts... but since 9x09 there hasn't been an "i love you" from whoever it hurts the "best" was the hug from 9x13 and the coffee scene from 9x16 of course jay needs each other and don't say "i love you" to hailey every day because you just have to see how they look at each other with 😍 eyes and you don't always have to say "i love you" to say "i love you" but the crumbs were pretty damn small.. . what is your opinion?
You are absolutely right! Compared to previous finales, 9x22 was definitely boring. To me, it felt like any other episode of S9. No big cliffhanger. No big twists. A lot of balance/continuation issues. It wasn't bad, but it definitely didn't meet the finale standards. The only things that saved the episode were the Upstead crumbs and the Burzekwater trio.
And I also agree, 9b overall wasn't as epic or intense as the first half of S9. I was never a big fan of the Anna/Escano case to begin with. I felt like they dragged it on too long. The Burzek drama was TOO MUCH! Barely any Upstead. There were some great episodes in the second half, 9x13, 9x18, and 9x19, but overall it was disappointing.
Hopefully, Gwen and the other writers make up for the lack of Upstead in S10. I also hope they fix the balance and continuity issue. I don't want to set my expectations high, but it's a brand new season, and they are getting closer to the 200th episode. They better step up their game.
