Happy World Bush Dog Day! 🐕

World Bush Dog Day is celebrated annually on July 21. It is a grassroots environmental observance dedicated to raising awareness about the unique South American canid (Speothos venaticus) and supporting vital conservation efforts to protect their natural habitats.

They're the most aquatic member of the dog family. Being able to dive underwater to hunt and use rivers to corner prey.

The closest living relative of the bush dog (Speothos venaticus) is the long-legged maned wolf (Chrysocyon brachyurus) also from South America.

hello and welcome to another episode of

maned wolf monday!

i'm max, i'm the leggy talking right now, my pronouns are they and them. today we're gonna talk about the various expressions of the leg. but first, we have to do. the god damn legs.

I rewatched Zootopia 2 the other day and I got the idea to draw some canine breeds that we haven't seen yet in the franchise.

I considered adding a dingo, but when I looked them up I learned that dingoes are descended from domesticated dogs (which don't exist in Zootopia's univerese) so I scrapped that idea. I know there's lots of other canids I could've included but I just wanted to draw a few of them. Idk if I'll draw more in the future.
