People get decades all wrong.

The 50s lasted well into the 60s.

The 70s started before the 60s were over and lasted well into the 80s.

The 60s were really just one year, but man, it was a hell of a year.

The 80s didn't get started until the 80s were almost over and took up most of the 90s.

The 90s are a myth. There's just a 5-7 year gap between the 80s and 2000s.

The 2000s got started on time but were smothered in the crib by the Bush years, which are their own thing.

The 2010s got started early but lasted about 10 years, so good on them.

The 2020s started in 2018 and may never end.

World War Z is my favorite book of all time, and there’s next to no fandom behind it. It is forever burdened by the shitty Brad Pitt movie and its spinoff video games, but the book itself was a masterpiece of geopolitical fiction. I’ve never read another book like it that explores not only how the entire world would react to a global disaster, but filters that reaction through the lens of the climate in which it was written; it is very much a book about the aftermath of the Cold War and the beginnings of the War on Terror, and I’ve never seen anyone really dissect it to reveal all the layers. Max Brooks had to do a ton of research, and next to no one appreciates it.

Moral Orel was absolutely meant to parody the Bush Era extensively with his its more overt political tones. The themes surrounding the show have a pretty big bone to pick with Bush Era conservatism and the mechanisms which led to its perpetuity. Its particular bouts of social commentary can be somewhat hit or miss, but there are lines which directly reference some Bush era sayings and ideas in a number of episodes.

I worked on this for the better part of a year. I think I'm finally somewhat happy with the composition and layering. I HOPE that this is not my magnum opus. It may well be if something happens.

I'm probably going to change it even more.
