Please can somebody tell me what the deal with musical theatre kids and tea is?  Is it just a vocal-related thing or something even weirder?  Because a lot of my theatre friends (including me) are tea-drinkers, we once had a tea and craft party for someone’s 23rd where we brought different teas for everyone to try (I brought a Christmas cake tea), one of my friends literally has at least a shelf in her living room just dedicated to tea, another has multiple flavours of green tea and when we had to hold rehearsal at her house (because the uni campus was closed due to snow), the start of rehearsal was just everyone making cups of tea.  When we played Cards Against Humanity at a house party a few months ago, a few people actually used tea as their drink.

I HAVE BUSOM TOMORROW!!!

I was just looking around for monologues and I found this one by Gabriel Davis:

It sounded so me and made me laugh, and Tessa Ostvig's interpretation was brilliant.  It makes me think you can be completely and unapologetically 100% yourself without feeling embarrassed, and that is a joy of life to be FREE to do that.  I think I've found my pre-prepared piece for December (the audition for BUSOM's Moby Dick! The Musical production in March), so yay.

When I finished reading it, I also immediately thought that agirlnamedally and arielerinkaplan should read this, as they are much more likely to do yoga than me (I sometimes wish I did though) and I think it'd make them laugh too.  I also think spaffyy, mikeylord and imaginewizard should read this :P

So with that, I'm going to continue to read Paddington and prepare for the first BUSOM (Bradford University Society of Operettas and Musicals) rehearsal of the year tomorrow evening :)

Welcome!

Hey Class,

Welcome to the inaugural blogging effort of the School of Management's Executive Education office, and, more importantly, YOUR class blog! While you will all be required to write a minimum of two posts over the duration of the 18-month program, we encourage you to share thoughts, pictures, links, videos and above all, reflections on your experiences in the program. This should serve as an informal way of getting to know each other and as a mechanism to communicate those things which may not be pertinent to classroom discussions. In other words, we really want to get a sense of who you guys are! The goal is to foster an even stronger bond as a class and between us all as part of the SOM family. I hope you guys are enjoying this semester as much as I am and I look forward to seeing what everyone has to contribute.

I love when I get excited about something to do with the future

so after talking with my mom about what I am going to do when it comes time for applying to medical school, I have decided that I will apply to at least 1 outside of the state. When I looked up hospitals that are top-notch in pediatrics and/or cardiology (since I want to be a pediatric cardiologist), I saw Boston Children's Hospital. Wonderful hospital that hospital is. Then I looked up schools and fell in love with Boston University School of Medicine. I want to go there so badly now. I know that may change when the time comes, but this feeling of excitement and knowing that this is what I want to do makes me so happy. And Boston is such a great city from what I hear, so all positives.
