i have midterms coming up and im DYING from all this revision but anyway high school au and instead of that chuuya needing short hair thing, all through middle school he has a phase where it's an ugly length. dazai teases him horrible even he admits it's shit but then on the first day of high school it's Perfect Ponytail length. dazai ascends to heaven on that day - nya anon

I kinda have that mental image of Nagisa from Assassination Classroom where his mother insisted that he should wear his hair long (he styles them in twin-tails) and maybe that’s similar here? Like his mother always wanted a girl so she makes him wear his hair long and in the beginning, it looked just really girly on him because he was also not that tall for a boy (and still isn’t) but when Chuuya gets older, he is brave enough to talk against his mother (and maybe Kouyou helps him with that) and he gets a nice haircut which is not long but also not too short so he can bind his hair back into a short ponytail and a messy bun.

So maybe on his first day of High School, he is already surrounded by girls who want to talk to him because he looks hot and he is just that type of boy who looks like another person after the vacation between Middle and High School. Maybe he also gets compliments from old classmates from his Middle School years.

When Dazai arrives at the school a little while later, he is confused why there is a crowd of people blocking his way and he just sees a happy laughing girl surrounded by other girls and when he gets closer, he realizes - no, that’s not a girl, it’s Chuuya and fuck, he looks goddamn good now.

Dazai greets Chuuya with a “Morning, chibi” and instantly meets a sour point with Chuuya and gets a kick on his ass. “Stop insulting my height because you can’t badmouth me with my hair anymore!”
