I miss our innocence and the not-so-innocent

I miss you knowing me and me knowing you. You were the wind to my aspen leaves. I was the sand to your desert.

But I frayed. And you frayed. Separately. But ultimately it costs us our friendship.

I hope you're doing alright with all of this. I hope you've been well.

If anything were to happen to you, I'd live my life in guilt for not being there. For not being good enough to save you. I thought with me you'd be out of that plave. But you went back to him and back to your old life.
