For the love of God, let this suffering end! My heart breaks both literally and figuratively. Whoever said that "It's better to have loved and lost than never have loved at all" needs to stub their toe rn. Like what the hell were you thinking? Sure you get to experience the highs of love, the joys of fulfillment. But, if it ever disappears, you're left with NOTHING. Those memories that kept you on cloud nine? Now they're dragging you to the bottom of the Mariana Trench. On top of that, you're plagued by the "what ifs" and the "could have been". They bite at your skin like mosquitos, weigh down your feet like muck. It's not a zero sum game, folks! I wonder, if I lined up all my happiness end to end, it would not even be a tenth as much pain as I've suffered. Happily ever after doesn't exist. Unless you die in Disneyland.
