what the fuck is the story of my math class?

There was once 4 reining kingdoms; the Dragon, the Griffin, the Phoenix, and the Kingdom of Arachne. But (P L O T) the Kingdom of Arachne has betrayed the other three!
Arachne had sent disastrous armies to the other kingdoms because (P L O T).
The three kingdoms of Phoenix, Griffin, and Dragon had then been able to use a staff of Steadfastness (yes that’s what it’s called) which was able to destroy the Arachne!
Knowing that this wasn’t the true end, the kingdoms broke the staff into nine pieces to keep it safe and then spread through the realm.
Now enter us.
After being shoved into a cellar because we had lost a battle with a troll named Garblat, we meet Vanguard. An assassin that looks like every 7 year old’s fanfic/YA novel’s ideal male love interest. He has a sword AND a hood! What a guy!
He was captured during an assignment sent by the Alliance of Monarchs! P L O T!
With the use of him and some (convenient) clues scattered around, we were able to unlock the door and get out!
But that wasn’t all! No it’s R E M A T C H time!
Hell Yeah! U N E X P L A I N E D P L O T !
After a rematch with Garblat that ended with us winning, we noticed that (dramatic sigh) Vanguard has been struck down like a smooth criminal!! HUWAAA!!
As he is deathly wounded, he hands you a suspiciously long letter that says he knew he could rely on you? But we met like two minutes ago????? It’s because of P L O T!
In the letter, it talks about how this all started and then how he was sent to gather all the pieces of the staff! He got one!!
And then it got stolen and now we have to retrieve because you read that stupidly long letter all about exposition!!
Now we have to fight the person who stole it because you blocked them from escaping!!
