Ways to get around the sonadow immortal and mortal angst;

Shadow visits some ancient magical wish giving spirit to remove his immortality.

Sonic becomes immortal from having used the chaos emeralds so many times.

Upon his death, Sonic becomes a ghost who just chills and hangs out with Shadow as much as he likes. Maybe it's because he used the emeralds so much, a kind and forgiving ancient god, or Sonic's pure spite.

Immortality is sexually transmitted.

Something something...Jason isn't his real name. It's his name that was given to him when the wolves got him. They didn't know his name and Juno didn't bother to correct them. Thalia knows him by a different name. Maybe his name matches hers. Another muse. A god of art. Who knows if Beryl ever named him. She didn't care for him, just like his father. It makes sense why Juno would let the name stick. It sounds better than "Bubba". Or "Jupiter Jr.". Or "JJ" for short. Or whatever Thalia was interested in when she was little.

Theory: Akasha wanted Gabi (potential spoilers below)

When Lestat wakes up in 3x5 we catch the tale end of what Marius is saying to Akasha about it: "Fished him from the wilds of a pauper's grave. Oh, loves his mother. Loves, loves her. [I] Wanted to take care of her as you said. Well, he was there. She was not."

At first reading, considered on its own, we might read the 'taking care' here as killing off Gabriella (possibly as competition for Lestat?). HOWEVER, immediately before this, to lead into this scene, we heard the refrain of "blue eyes, blue eyes" from Lestat's song 'When I Call Out Your Name' which is about GABI, and then cut to Marius saying the same words 'blue eyes, blonde hair' before the rest of this speech. (We've already had characters talking about Gabi's blonde hair, which, like her eyes, are the same as Lestat's).

In particular looking at 'he was there. She was not.' -- could one interpretation of Marius' speech not be 'look, he's not the one you want but he looks pretty close AND he loves her, that's got to count for something right?'

Gabi is already really into the idea of being evil and I find it very plausible that Akasha would be deeply intrigued by the thoughts of the chick who's actively seeking out dark powers ("Is there an evil older than you?") and saying things like "I am the fever that comes in the night and kills by morning". Plus it helps explain why a 'patricidal queen' might say 'hmm... bring me a man' - (she didn't!)
