You're absolutely right.
There's no way Nicholas couldn't have fallen in love with the different names Danny seemed to give things. And I bet that at one point, they make it into a game so Nicholas can "switch off" and just relax for a moment. So they take Policeman-officer to a whole new level. This is the kind of stuff I live for.
