today in my jewish studies class (jewish school!!!) we were talking about the term “goy” (which means a non-jew) and my friend suddenly went “so does that mean that goya the bean company just means non-jewish??” and i shit you not i died of laughter it was so dumb

coworker who just had a kid starts pumping in the office literally less than 1 foot away from me, covered apparently as she reassures my supervisor when he comes in and is like “oh sorry” because not that i would actually know since i am pointedly not looking in her direction, just staring at the spreadsheet of pre-count sku lists i need to print for inventory, and then she continues on “you don’t wanna see these [redacted], it’s not a pretty sight...when i pump around my little brother he’s always very curious and i’m like ‘you don’t wanna see these nasty [redacted],’ but he’s 11, at that age you know where he’s just like ‘[REDACTED]’ hahahahahahaha” just going on like that 3 or 4 repetitions in a row each time a straight uppercut to the amygdala and i’m completely paralyzed as in fight v. flight v. freeze and my heart rate is skyrocketing (and in fact has risen again now simply in the act of typing this) and i’m just like stopstopstopstopstopstopjsdbvjhfjbvfbvfjhbvjdv STOP PLEASE

it’s surrounding me on all sides, this coworker just had a kid, another coworker is currently pregnant, and i just found out that yet another coworker (who is my age, which throws me for an extra cognitive dissonance loop) is planning to become pregnant, and the discomfort is visceral but i hesitate to voice it for fear of sounding reactionary or whatever

it’s just constant mortification and like...secondhand shame and dysphoria almost, i suppose

anyway this all is not meant to sound entirely coherent, humiliation and uneasiness too strong to even want to be fully understood
