Suzie trudged on, saying, “I really think you guys need to talk all of this out. Why don’t you do it tonight at the concert?”

Lydia’s eyes grew the size of saucers. “Oh my God. Fuck, I forgot I have to see her tonight. I already know I won’t how to act. Shit.” Lydia pried her hand away from Suzie’s clutches to hide her face.

“Act how you always do. Be the fun, sarcastic, witty Lydia we all know and love. And, for real, please think about talking to Kori. About everything.”

“I brought our previous make-out up last night, and she kinda brushed it off and moved on.”

“Then maybe she’s just as scared and confused as you are,” Suzie offered.

Lydia scoffed. “Kori King doesn’t get scared and confused.”

“Everyone gets scared and confused. Even Regina George-esque Lululesbians with biceps twice the size of you.”

“Not helpful.”

“Sorry. My point still stands. Talk. To. Her.”

Think We Kissed But I Forgot (Last Friday Night) - Chapter 15

“Has anyone ever told you you’re aggressive when you’re drunk?”

“Has anyone ever told you you’re really stupid?”

Jewels stood up and brushed off her baby-pink dress. “Ooookay. And that’s our cue to leave.”

“You know it’s time to go when the insult-themed foreplay starts,” Suzie grinned.

Kori and Lydia both simply glanced at each other, and flipped the couple simultaneous matching middle fingers as they skipped back away into the party. Once they left, Kori made an awful attempt to climb over the back of the couch and slide into the seats previously occupied by Jewels and Suzie. Kori clamored, landing with a thump and nearly spilling her Twisted Tea. Lydia flinched as amber drops of liquid sloshed slightly out of the open can in her direction.

She laughed once Kori landed, and leaned forward just a bit. “You’re so wasted.”

“Nuh-uh. I’m always this good at parkour.”

“Doubtful.”

“Excuse me, I’d like to see you try some of our lax training drills. Those are basically parkour. But with less, like, back-flippy shit.”

Lydia leaned closer over to Kori as Sam, Arrietty, and a collateral Acacia continued their squabble. She tightened her grip around the throw pillow she clutched in her lap. “So I take it they always fight like this?”

Kori bit off a piece of her Nerds Rope with a tug. “Yep. Not always those two specifically, but the movie selection process is always loud. And sometimes violent. Like, here- watch this. It’s so fun to get them riled up.” Kori proceeded to cup her hands around her mouth with a menacing grin. “Let’s watch Shrek,” she shouted into the line of fire.

Lydia watched in horror as every head whipped over to Kori, various looks of shock and disgust etched into every girl’s face. “Don’t fucking piss me off,” Lana groaned as Arrietty silently pointed to Kori, proceeding to mime a slit throat with her index finger.

Jewels yelped over from where Suzie and her were curled up, both sat in one big reclining chair. “Seriously, you’re sick in the head.”

Kori just chuckled as she settled back into the couch, whispering to Lydia, “See, it’s just too easy.”

“I’m horrified. Now I see why you guys needed me to help you pick which High School Musical to watch,” Lydia managed with a breathy laugh.

Apologies for the wait with this one, I truly hope it was worth it 🥹 chapter 14 should be out a lot lot sooner lol and without giving too much away… I think people are gonna like chapter 14 a lot HAHA. So I hope everyone is excited ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Maybe Kori was overthinking. Lydia wasn’t too too terribly off.

She still laughed relentlessly when Kori said something totally stupid, like a comment about how the school cafeteria pizza crust was definitely made out of old textbook boxes, or an inquiry about whether or not you can put plastic Ziploc bags in the microwave (you absolutely cannot). She nagged when Kori forgot to do her English readings for the third time that week and got reamed by Mrs. Visage in front of the entire class.

And arguably, most importantly, she still kissed Kori with the same fervor that made Kori’s knees weak, in empty hallways and secret corridors like she wanted to fuse their bodies together.

YES. SHE WILL BE FINISHED. YES THERE WILL BE MORE CHAPTERS I PINKY FREAKING PROMISE!!!!

I have been entirely too busy as of late to be able to write but trust the comeback will be coming. Keep ur eyes peeled for a new update hopefully in the very near future and I cannot stress it enough- TWKBIF/TGIF will never get abandoned. That shit is my baby and I could never just leave y’all hanging forever :)

Hiiii all :) just a bit of a TWKBIF/TGIF update: I will be going on a writing hiatus for the month of August! Unfortunately I just don’t have enough time right now to be writing and updating due to a lot of life things (nothing bad I promise don’t worry about me LOL, in fact it’s all good stuff!) and as always I want to be sure what I put out is never rushed/not as good as it can be.

I’m going to stay pretty active on here though so please don’t feel like you can’t reach out or still engage with me, I love hearing from and talking to people !!!

Again this fic is never going to be abandoned, I promise it will get done all in due time. I will not leave people hanging!!! Big thanks to everyone who has supported me and the fic thus far, and especially thank you to everyone who has stuck with it and is still reading :)))

At this point, however, a metaphorical angel popped up on Kori’s shoulder. It began to whisper ideas and delusions of grandeur in her ear, softly, as fleeting as a gust of wind.

Maybe Lydia really does feel apologetic, maybe there's still a chance.

Perhaps she didn't actually mean to leave you in the dust.

Fuck, her legs look really good in those tiny-ass leather shorts.

Okay, forget that last part, but you get the gist.

Kori squinted in the distance, desperately trying to rewire her brain and get back to being focused on her original mission. She could feel her motivation to stay mad at Lydia dripping out from under her like an IV with a hole in the bag. Fucking fuck.

As the rest of their friends shuffled to start readying for bed, Kori suddenly felt a tug at her wrist. Lydia pulled her into the secluded space where the living room poured into the hallway, an unreadable expression plaguing her perfect face.

Lydia shifted awkwardly. “Um- I don’t really know how to ask this without sounding like a total weirdo.” She nervously twisted an earring. Kori squinted at her as she continued, “Where are you planning on sleeping tonight?”

“Uh. I guess just, like, on a couch. Or Lana’s air mattress, if she’s feeling generous. I might have to bribe her with coffee tomorrow morning.”

“Well, I have a bed upstairs. Obviously. If- if you want. To save 7 bucks on Lana’s insanely over-complicated Dunkin’ order, that is.”

“God, you’re right, it’s all so fucking unnecessary. Like, why do you need hazelnut and butter-pecan syrup in one latte?”

Lydia smiled a small, half-smile. “So, you wanna?”

Kori scoffed. “I mean, is that even a question you really have to ask?”

And Lydia looked kind of far-off at that. “I never really know,” she said in a smaller voice.
