Personality: All of the rumors about bastard’s blood are true in Maelys. He is temperamental, cruel, and lecherous, and bears no love towards his father or mother.
Special Talents: He holds his liquor better than any man he’s ever met.
Who they like better: Probably Victarion but only because he is indifferent towards him. He resents his mother for being a bastard herself, and for not having been conceived from her and her salt husband.
Who they take after more: Of the two he is more like Victarion since he has a hard head and short temperament.
Personal Head canon: Victarion harbors both resentment and a cruel sort of fascination for his bastard son. On one hand, Maelys is the living reminder that he abandoned his principles and slept with Euron’s saltwife, but on the other, he is reminded that he paid Euron in kind for what he did, and silently assists the boy. Though he is no true father to Maelys, he saw to it that he received a favorable position on the ship Lamentation.
